Is this strong enough to find a cable behind solid plaster? (Not just plasterboard)

For many of the tests you connect each device at either end of the cable. Thus, it doesn't matter whether the cable runs through wood, concrete, plasterboard, plaster, etc. To find the tone using the sensing probe (wirelessly), I have only succeeded to find the tone when the probe tip is right next to the cable (<1/2 inch away, Cat5, Cat5E or Cat6 cable typically). For coaxial cable (for TVs), the probe can't drive substantial lengths of this cable. I have used a different device to test connectivity on those (which is based on DC and uses different known impedances to validate connectivity).

Is this just for data or can it do twin, flex etc?
