Emfit Movement and Seizure Monitor

We have one of these. It does help to give us some piece of mind during the night but it will only detect about 50% of my sons seizures even on the most sensitive settings. Unfortunately the sensors just aren't sensitive enough to detect every seizure. For the price of this device I don't know if it's worth it and since these movement monitors are not yet FDA approved insurance will not help with the cost - at all!!! So it's a pricey device that works some of the time in my opinion. We're looking into the embrace wrist band 1/4 of the cost and detects seizures in ways other then just movement, hopefully this will work better for us.

This monitor has never worked for our daughter. She has refractory epilepisy and suffers seizures AT LEAST twice a week...tonic/clonic seizures as well as complex partial. This monitor has NEVER worked for her. I contacted company to change settings several times. I test it to ensure it is operating. It has NEVER worked for her. I cannot return the unit because I kept it too long trying to adjust the settings. I wish I would have returned it immediately. Very disappointed.

This helps my family sleep at night again after my daughter has been diagnosed with benign sleeping epilepsy and suffers from tonic clonic seizures during her sleep. We have had no false alarms and it did notify us when she had her 2nd seizure. We are so thankful for this product.

We have owned this monitor for over a year. It did work 80% of the time for the first 8 months. I am now not sure it works 50% of the time. I have adjusted the setting to really sensitive and am still not getting a response. There are not very many alternatives at all and the price is quite high. At $650.00 it's quite an expense for families who probably have more than their share of medical expenses. On the bright side, this company is one of a very few trying to make a device to detect seizures. It does help you sleep at night and gives piece of mind when you know it is working.
