![Zodiac (Director's Cut) [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81grceQ1dNL.jpg)

Directed by David Fincher. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Brian Cox. Review: True classic movie - Great movie with on the edge and eery scenes. Bluray quality is excellent. I would recommend it as a must see movie. Even the packaging was eery looking...as if it was sent by a questionable mailer. I will keep the movie just as it was sent to me. Review: An intense and excellently portrayed True Crime story - An engaging, suspenseful and dramatic, and largely fact-based motion picture. Top caliber actors and production values. According to recent research, the case remains unsolved.

Love the bonus features
Love the bonus features. They were almost better than the movie. Lots of detail on the original zodiac, victims and other players..

The Important Thing to Remember about Zodiac Was That The Story Was Real
There appeared to be many Zodiac Killers. Not all the attacks happened in the San Francisco Bay Area. The first attack was in the nearby city of Vallejo in 1969, accompanied in the Director's Cut by Donovan's song Hurdy Gurdy Man. Then followed attacks in Sonoma and Lake Berryessa near Napa. In 1970 there was an attack in San Francisco, which followed the first attack in Southern California in the city of Riverside. It is evident that there was not just one Zodiac Killer, but many copycat killers. There were many suspects, but the real Zodiac was not found after many investigations by the state government in Sacramento. The excellent presentation by Director David Fincher gives a good idea of the fear that existed in California without overplaying it.

A Creepy and Revealing Tale
I didn't grow up during the Zodiac killings. In fact it took this movie to bring the events to my attention. The story is all about unexpected heroes and villains, from the cartoonist cum-investigator to the pair of amateur code-breakers who cracked the initial code from the killer. The tragedy of the tale is the all consuming obsession with solving the mystery, at the cost of friends, family and jobs. People like the main character of the story are driven to know the truth where others have given up, and their relentless pursuit of that information both vindicates and or destroys them....usually the latter. Without people like the main character we would never know what had happened.

Real and truthful. The best kind of horror story.
I love movies!!

Bad for Movie Buffs
SPECIAL FEATURES! The blu ray has plenty of special features, including a very rich and detailed technical commentary by David Fincher. I was also excited for the cast commentary with Robert Downey jr, Jake Gyllenhaal, things like that. However, this is the entire reason I'm writing this review, because the cast commentary is so disgraceful. Robert Downey jr and Jake Gyllenhaal are in the same room, and the writer, producer, and some guy who is an expert on serial killings, who I will kindly call "Stupid." Once every 15 minutes, there is a snippet of the two that people care about that is funny and insightful, then for the next 14 minutes, it is Stupid's entire professional opus. He speaks in this omniscient, deep, holier than thou style about the facts about the movie's subject matter which are actually, entirely speculation. So 96% of the secondary commentary is someone who's ego is only eclipsed by the fact that no one knows who he is. and 4% actual commentary. Other than that, there is a lovely behind the scenes documentary that does its best to show off Fincher's prowess as a director in a way that is accessible (does its best) to all people. But it does have some pretty interesting things in it. Another well-deserved gripe about the commentary is that the writer and producer repeat verbatim the behind the scenes documentary. SHIPPING AND PACKAGING!!! When I opened the package i kicked myself in my stupid face. I spent a couple weeks looking around best buys, walmarts, targets, and the like to find Zodiac on bluray. No dice, so now i have to spend 36 dollars on a 16 dollar bluray. Well, I think i found out why, they shipped me the United Kingdom version. So with my initial worry that it would be in PAL format as opposed to glorious master race NTSC, i threw it in the PS3 and it worked fine. As far as i know, nothing is different from the actual version. In review, and poor choices of words, I didn't buy this to watch the movie, I got it because I wanted everything else about it. So, with its wretched downsides, you get a decent documentary and a true fincher commentary. If you wanna pay 35 dollars for just that because nothing else is good. Also the british version of that, go ahead. But don't come crying to me when you need help getting out of that straightjacket.

This zodiac blu-ray is from the UK and its not the us version. The picture quality is crystal clear and this little jewel worth every penny! Thanks David Fincher for this awsome movie and its a must for any ''good'' blu-ray collection! Enjoy!
