Armor AR350 Low Gloss Wet Look Concrete Sealer 5 Gallon - Professional Grade Color Enhancing Solvent Based Acrylic Sealer for Exterior Concrete and Pavers - 700 VOC

I did quite a bit of research on what product to buy to reseal our back yard stamped concrete patio. We had fallen behind on the annual maintenance and the patio got into some rough shape with all the sunshine in the summer and rain in the winter. I was looking for something that would seal it up tight, bring back some of the visual appeal, resist the rain and go on easy. This product ticks all the boxes. I ended up using a regular paint brush to do all the edges and then a roller with a thicker 3/4 inch nap to roll out the majority of the surface. I followed all of their instructions to the letter (pressure washed 24 hours before, cleaned the surface with a blower before the first coat, applied the first coat and waited 24 hours to do the second and then did not put anything on it for another 48 hours). When everything had set up, I moved my grill back onto the patio and had no issues with it sticking or damaging the surface. The patio has some color and life back in it and is well sealed. The surface is not slippery (I will check it again when the rainy season begins) and is not showing any issues after the grill sat on it for a week. The difference is almost night and day and was totally worth the effort. You can see the difference in the picture between an area that was not covered (at the time of the picture) and an area that is. Quite the difference! The process was so simple and if you go slowly, the mess is minimal. I bought a two pack of rollers so I did not have to attempt to clean them and just threw them away after the job was done. I did the same with the disposable tray. I do not recommend trying to clean this stuff out as that is extra work that seems unnecessary for the cost of a couple rollers. I am happy with the process and the results! I will be recommending this to my friends as well.

Shipped fast and was really well packaged for shippment! Application was super simple and easy with standard roller and a broom handle attached. Followed the directions exactly and had zero issues on colored concrete pavers. Previous owner had slacked on sealing before us so the first coat that I liberally rolled on got soaked in quickly. Pic attached is that 1st coat after 24hrs. Due to the overly dried out pavers, coverage was lower than described. I got about 1300sqft single coat which is inline of their estimates. The second coat does cover better so staying on top of reapplications every 2-4 years should be easier and more cost effective. It really does improve the look of the pavers although you will see alot more white stone spots after due to where the paver color has worn off over the years. But still better looking by far! I did test a secind coat in spots which was also zero issues but not as transforming. But when it rained a few days later it was noticeable how the water beaded better. I experiance none of the cloudy, white, or yellow issues that any of the neg reviews list. And this was done in South West Florida with a SW facing driveway! I did reapply polymetric sand to all the paver joints prior with some joints at the street and side walk being 1". The polymetric sand was preset with water mist 2 days prior and with sealer it became very hard which is perfect! I have already ordered a second 5 gallons to complete a second coat without any hesitation and would highly recomend!

I had a new exposed aggregate patio poured this summer, and knew I wanted to seal it both for protection and the color that it brings out in the material. When dry, my patio appears grey with brown exposed pebbles...but when wet appears brown which is what I wanted. After days of research, I settled on this product. To make application easier, I bought a roller frame, 4 foot extension handle, a paint tray plus 2 disposable inserts, a couple of 3 inch paint brushes, and a 6 pack of 3/8 inch roller covers. After completing the project, the only thing I would change is to say that you will only need one roller cover for each application. I prepped the patio by sweeping it several times before the first application to remove dust and debris (new patio, so I did not see the need to power wash). My space is bounded on 3 sides by either house or iron fence, and I planned to work towards the open edge as I went. I found it easiest to cut in 3 of the bounded sides of the patio by hand with a paint brush. I then poured some of the 5 gallon can into the paint tray and went to work methodically working in from all the edges while making sure I did not apply any behind me. It went on quickly and easily, and I got any excess of the roller in the tray before applying so there would not be any pooling on the concrete. I worked my way to the open edge to finish things off. The takeaway from the first application was that sweeping the patio was not enough to clear all of the small debris. I ended up with a fair amount on the roller, and had to pick pieces of grass out of the sealer as I went. The whole first application took me less than an hour start to finish on a 225 square foot surface. I waited the required 24 hours for the second application. I knew I needed to get the invisible debris off the patio better this time, so I decided to use a leaf blower to work out towards all the edges. I repeated the application just as I had the prior day, starting with cutting in all the edges with the paint brush. I finished the second application in about 40 minutes, and found hardly any issues with debris on the roller or surface. The leaf blower was a success, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. The surface sheen looked uneven after the first application, but looked great after the second. I am extremely pleased with the result...a matte finish wet look. Water now beads on the surface when it rains, and the patio looks amazing. I will definitely be using this product in the future, but probably in smaller quantity. I used maybe half of a 5 gallon for the entire project.

I've used this sealer for a few years now on my patio. It is easy to use-for me the hardest part is finding two days in a row with no rain so you can wash the surface one day and give it 24 hours to dry before applying this sealer the next evening. It is important that you wait until the sun has set and the surface temp is below 85 degrees....hotter than that and you will get bubbles. (I have, and they pop easily and you won't notice where they were after that, so not a huge problem.) While it does "last," meaning that it's still there after a hot summer and crappy winter (I'm in NE Ohio,) I find the sealer dulls after a year. (See the pic where I've applied fresh sealer in comparison to last year's sealer.) Because it looks so amazing with a fresh coat, I do mine every spring. I simply hit the patio the day before with some Simple Green, use a surface cleaner with my cheapie electric pressure washer, and then rinse off with a wide nozzle. (You could get away with a brush and a hose.) I use an 18" roller and get great results, and I can knock the job out in an hour or so. This year I added Foundation Armor's fine anti-slip additive and it gives my patio a bit of grit to make it less slippery when wet. I just added some to the roller tray after each refill and mixed it in with a paint stick. The sealer works good. I wish it would last a little longer so I could do the job every other year, but I'm addicted to the new shiny look it gives to my patio every spring. (People are shocked to hear my patio is seven years old now!)

So, I will start by saying that I originally purchased the AR350 for my pavers which I believed would apply a low gloss but wet look. However, with how porous concrete pavers are, it definitely did not do that. The AR350 definitely deepened the color and made them look great, but no gloss whatsoever. The waterproof coating was there but only last 6 months or so. I also used all 5 gallons covering about 500sq ft of pavers. Concrete pavers almost immediately absorbs this so the application method is crucial. I bought a DeWalt $50 sprayer from Home Depot and it worked great and never ate through the tubing. I did use a roller to spread excess which I recommend. Point is, if you want this to apply a low gloss, you need to apply this very heavily and probably 2 coats to achieve. If you have a smaller area to work with, 5 gallons is enough. If it's a larger area, you will probably need (2) 5 gallon buckets. The first picture is my original application with AR350. 2nd try at getting it right: I spoke with Foundation Armor and decided to try AR500 since it is a higher gloss and works better on porous surfaces. I definitely wish I would have just went with this to begin with. However, 5 gallons was still only enough for 1 full coat. I was able to quickly hit my driveway only with a 2nd coat but that was it. I applied at night when it was around 87 degrees and it was drying very quickly. Cooler temps definitely would have helped it stay wet longer so that I could brush roll the excess easier. At this temp, it virtually dried up within seconds. Nonetheless, if I had 5 more gallons, I am confident I could have applied 2 full coats and had a very deep and glossy wet look that would last for years. Again, I applied mine with the same DeWalt sprayer and still didn't eat through the hose. I hope this review helps someone make the right decision. My overall point, if you are applying on porous concrete pavers, I personally recommend the AR500, and make sure you order enough.

Not only is this product superior to anything I have used in my life, but the customer service is the absolute best! The finish shines nicely with that wet look but not over done - the surface is not slippery - the product adhered nicely without pooling - and the color is accentuated! Quick drying on an overcast day around 80 degrees - drove on it less than 24 hours later! I am a customer for life and so should you!

We had Unilock pavers installed about 2 years ago, and while we loved the style of our patio, some of the polymeric sand always seemed to wash out and made the pavers look dirty and hazy which was very frustrating. We were constantly trying to clean the pavers, only to have the same thing happen over and over again. We were to the point that we wished we had built a deck instead of the patio. So we decided to try sealing our pavers in the hope of keeping the polymeric sand in place better and keeping the haze and dirt from staining the pavers. We applied 2 coats of this sealer to our approx. 450 sq. ft. patio (so we covered about 900 sq. ft. total) and wound up with approx. 1 gallon left from the 5 gallon drum that we ordered. We are very pleased with the results! We sealed the patio about 3 weeks ago, and it looks clean and beautiful. We have had multiple heavy rains and the patio finally has been able to stay clean!! After 2 years of frustration, we now have a patio that we are able to enjoy. When I was looking for a sealer, I was a little confused in reading the reviews. Some people said they got a nice wet look and other folks complained that the finish wasn't shiny. After seeing the results on our pavers, I understand why people had different opinions on the finish. If you have a dense, smooth paver or surface, you will get a fairly glossy result. If your paver or surface is more rough or textured (like a sandstone finish), you will see a very light sheen (not a wet, glossy look). On our patio, the main pavers are Unilock Copthorne pavers which are very dense and more smooth, so those came out with more of a wet, glossy shine. Our patio is trimmed with Brussels block pavers which are more textured and resulted in a very light soft sheen - not a glossy look. So your final appearance will all depend on what type of surface you are starting with. Some tips - we applied the product with an inexpensive pump sprayer and then rolled it out with a roller on a pole. We probably spent about an hour and a half or 2 hours to do each individual coat on a 450 sq. ft patio (including getting the equipment ready). My husband sprayed, and I used the roller - great if you have 2 people. Sometimes the fluffy nap on the roller was lightly shredding off and sticking to the patio like fine strings of cotton candy. I thought it was the roller, but after switching the roller we had the same issue. We discovered that we either weren't applying enough sealer or we were trying to do too large an area and the sealer was drying too quickly and pulling nap off the roller. Once we applied a little more product and worked on a smaller area we did not have a problem. My husband would spray about a 6ft by 6ft area and would wait till I was almost done rolling before moving to the next area. That worked well for us - it was very windy the day we applied the product and I think it was drying very quickly. I found it was helpful to roll at about a 45 degree angle quickly and then I would finish with fast straight strokes before starting the next area. Rolling on the diagonal first before the straight strokes helped since our pavers were laid in a herringbone pattern. I would definitely recommend using a funnel if you are pouring the product into a sprayer. We did that the first day and were able to properly clean and reuse our sprayer. When we applied the second coat the next day, we decided to skip the funnel and poured directly into the sprayer. Everything was great until we tried to clean the sprayer and could not unscrew the top. We had gotten sealant on the threads of the sprayer and wound up having to throw the sprayer out. If we had used the funnel, I'm sure we would have been able to save the sprayer. We did not use any non-slip additives, and we feel that out patio is fine, although I would say it is slightly more slippery that the unsealed pavers. If we had an even smoother paver or we were applying this to a heavily used sidewalk, we might consider adding that additive. We followed all the application instructions and had no issues with any hazing or clouding on the pavers. Note that you need about 24 hours of dry weather before applying and then approximately another 24 dry hours afterwards to help ensure you get good lasting results. The hardest part of the project was waiting for the proper weather conditions since we were anxious to get started but there was too much possible rain in the forecast. We were patient, and were rewarded with great results! I attached a few pictures, and in one photo I added a couple of the original pavers so you can see the difference in the color and shine. The sealer definitely darkened the pavers, and I feel that they look a little more brown than their original color. I highly recommend this Foundation Armor sealer!

I have about 2000 square feet of stamped concrete, 10 years old, and it has needed to be resealed for at least 3 years. I received quotes for $1.5 to $2.00/sq ft to have a professional clean, prep, and reseal. Since we our Governor mandated that we stay home, the wife and I decided to try and tackle this project ourselves. A review of on-line videos gave us the basic how-to instructions, and recommended Foundation Armor AR350 for the Wet Look /Satin Gloss finish we were looking for. We found the product on Amazon, and the 5-gallon bucket of sealer arrived in good shape on our doorstep, about a week after placing the order. We also ordered a surface washer attachment for the pressure washer, an appropriate sprayer and an 18" pant roller setup from Amazon at the same time, so we had all the tools we needed. I picked up a gallon can of Xylene solvent locally, which you'll need to test the surface prior to starting, and to cleanup your sprayer between coats and after completion. We spent a day cleaning the surface, and then allowed 1.5 days to dry (working around weather conditions) before applying the first coat. The product went on beautifully, with me using the sprayer, and my lovely bride tackling the back rolling with the 3/8" nap roller. She also made sure I was applying just the right amount of film, and in the right place. We took our time, and completed application in 30-45 minutes on a surface area of about 800 sq ft. Prior to application, the stamped concrete was very dull, with areas of white where the old sealer had broken down. After one coat, the patio looked like new again. It was tempting to say we were done, but the hardest part (cleaning) was already completed, so we went ahead and planned for the second coat. The on-line video pro said to apply the second coat in 1-4 hours, making sure that the surface was dry to the touch. The instructions with the product said to wait 6-24 hours before applying the second coat, with 24 hrs being recommended. Since our patio faces West, and we didn't want it to get too hot before curing, we waited the full 24 hours, making sure to clean our sprayer out. This is easy - spray the remaining sealer back into the 5 gallon pail, add a little xylene into the sprayer tank, swirl around then spray into a metal can. Second coat went on smoothly - no back rolling this time. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I highly recommend Foundation Armor, and plan to order more to finish the other stamped concrete around my place.
