A1708 A1713 Battery for MacBook Pro 13 Inch A1708 [Late 2016, Mid 2017]

The First batter I purchased about 6 months ago!, That one worked great for 4-5 months, then when I moved back to using my MacBook at home connected to the charger and monitor constantly, it started acting up. I contacted Customer Support and then they were quick to replace it! Even though the first replacement (which was different manufacture-wise than the previous battery) was not able to recharge, I asked the supplier to send a second replacement, and equally as quick, they sent another replacement. Currently I am using that one and it is on it's 6th cycle. I recharged it when it hit 6% and my mac recalibrated and I've attached the stats from Coconut Battery to this review. For now I am very happy with the customer service and the very prompt response and replacements sent. Edit: Still going strong! my screen's optical cable passed out, and i'm kinda angry at that, but the battery still keeps around a full charge!

UPDATE 2: Battery is once again dying very quickly. Seems like these batteries are good for about 6-10 months and then they lose their capacity. Not worth the hassle of reinstalling new ones so often. UPDATE: Since battery has a 1 year warranty, I reached out to customer service and they were very helpful and shipped me a replacement immediately. Installed it and so far so good. Hopefully this one lasts longer. I bought and installed this 10 months ago. It seemed to be working well for a while, but in the past month or two the battery has started to swell and make it difficult to click the trackpad. Also, the battery life is heavily reduced and doesn't last more than an hour or so now. It used to last a few hours. I would not recommend.

I ordered a macbook off ebay, and it didn’t come with a battery. I went and ordered the battery here on amazon, it arrived super fast, easy to install and works like a charm! also has a good lasting battery life. Will recommend.

Overall this batter is in good condition. It came with two screw drivers and one additional tool for installation. I think it makes perfect sense to include the following accessories to make a smooth installation process even if we have to pay a little more money. First, a sucking cup is required to help to take off the back lid of the MacBook Pro 13. Second, a power connector should have been a part of the batter package so that customers do not have re-install that piece from the original battery pack. reconnecting this power connector to the new batter pack is not easy because the conjunction portion is extremely short and you can easily end up with bad connection. Although I appreciate the money we saved to DIY this battery replacement (Apple Store price is $299 and you have to wait for the battery and wait for another week for the installation), we spent over two hours to get this task done. Because we have to re-connect the old power connector to the new battery, it took us two separate trials to get it done properly and this is the most irritating portion of the installation. Removing the old battery was not the most difficult part for us.

I purchased this battery because I needed one fast. Originally I was thinking about getting the iFixit battery because the reputation of the company (btw it costs $150). Putting a cheap clone battery in a $2000+ laptop can be little daunting should it leak, explode or anything like that. This far the battery is working like when my 2018 MacBook Pro was new and I am somewhere around 5 charge cycles now w/o any issues. I followed the iFixit guide how to do the replacement. You basically had to take the whole laptop apart including removing the motherboard. It took me about 3 hours to get the job done. You will need a full toolkit with various pentalope and torx bits. My battery did not come with the tools as depicted and you certainly need more than 2 screw drivers. I had to run to BestBuy and get the iFixit toolkit. Please note that some folks have managed to change the battery without taking the motherboard out more on the iFixit guide's user posted comments. This could save you a lot of time.

This battery failed, but I found the info on the amazon bot that allowed me to contact the seller. Who responded immediatley, with the information to act on the warranty. Battery arrived quickly and was replaced and has been working great.

This was a huge mistake. A serious review for a serious problem. I fix electronics and build PC's for a living, and this battery was absolutely dangerous. The ribbons attaching the three piece battery together were misaligned. No problem, I thought. Went to turn the laptop on after and it shorted the whole thing out. Absolutely ridiculous.

Lorsqu’on veut changer soit même une batterie de MacBook afin d’éviter le tarif vertigineux d’Apple de 229€, on est face à des dilemmes, il n’existe aucune marque de référence dans laquelle on pourrait avoir une confiance aveugle. Il existe bien ifixit, mais à 150€, je pense que finalement j’ajouterais un peu pour aller directement chez Apple et avoir la batterie d’origine. On se retrouve donc à devoir acheter sans grandes informations. Cette batterie ne me semble pas de mauvaise qualité, sans être exceptionnelle non plus. Le contrôleur semble avoir une conception étonnante, le mac l’affiche que la batterie a été fabriquée en 2017, mais j’en doute. Ce paramètre n’est peut être pas renseigné sur chaque batterie et est juste une copie d’une batterie originale, pour économiser en frais de développement du logiciel interne. Lors du branchement la batterie indiquait 1 cycle, un cycle plus tard elle en indiquait 3. Encore quelque chose d’étonnant, à ce rythme, le fabriquant pourra aisément dire que la batterie a une durée de vie de 1000 cycles alors qu’elle en aura réellement 500 ou 300… Quant à la tenue en charge, je tient dans les 4/5h, soit moins que l’originale, alors que le mac indique qu’elle est à 100% de sa vie, est-ce encore le contrôleur qui raconte ce qu’il veut au mac ? Ou bien la batterie qui se vide plus rapidement dès qu’on la sollicite ? Difficile à dire.

La batterie ne fonctionne pu apres 2 mois.
