does this battery turn off

Don't waster your money. Some batteries don't fit, some would not twist on. Do not buy from them. Returned. So UNHAPPY.

current battery is flat topped, these look bulbous. That hasn't created any problems for anyone? They still turn correctly in collar?

I didn't have a problem with mine, but it requires the RFA-188 batteries i'd just make sure your manual matches the battery type and your should have no problems. =)

Do these batteries allow the collar to be switched off? Some non-branded batteries have this issue?

I believe they do. I could hear a "click" when I installed and turned the battery, but I never was able to get my collar to work.

Will the rfa-188 replace my rfa- 369 battery in the collar i have i’ve had it a number of years

No era 188 is 3volt. The 369 is 6volt.
