Not abrasive
I am so happy to find this awesome pumice stone. I have been searching for the past 15 years or longer. The original stone on a handle came from a bath shop that closed in the 1990's. This is a smoothing stone that rubs off the rough and dead skin (not grate). I also use it on my finger tips when the are rough and snagging fabric. I hope this will always be available on Amazon!

Gentle and effective Pumice Stone from Japan.
Made in Japan! Just like the one my Mom had brought over from Japan over 50 years ago. Perfect softness. I.e. not so hard that it leaves scratches but actually smoothes out those rough calloused heals gently. Like walking barefoot on a sandy beach. No more synthetic little particles down the drain ending up in the ocean. Yeah! Works nicely on hands and fingers with same smooth results if you have rough spots there. Have not at this point used on the elbows. So can’t comment on its effectiveness or gentleness on this more sensitive area. But I imagine it would work fine if used more gently.

Nice for very rough skin
Works well for rough skin (leg or feet). Should not be applied to finer skin (face, neck)

Super Fine Yet Not Fine Enough For Elbow
It is nice however the texture or the surface is still a little too rough on my elbow when I gently rub my elbows ... but it is perfect for my heels.

Works well, real pumice
This is real pumice and is way less crumbly than the artificial blue rectangular scrubbing stones I had been using for scrubbing my feet. Highly recommended.

Smelled Bad After a Few Uses
At first, this pumice stone seemed fine, lightweight and gentle on the skin. But after just a few uses, it started to break down and develop an unpleasant, almost rotten smell. I always let it dry properly, so this was unexpected. It became unusable pretty quickly. Definitely not the long-lasting quality I was hoping for, especially given the price and “made in Japan” label.

Quality-effectiveness
The stone wasn't exactly what I had long ago, a bit rougher, I got from HongKong. It doesn't work on rough skin as I thought it would.
