So, As I Brew . . .
. . . a single serve cup, I must share my experience with you. I have had versions of this Cuisinart for five or six years now, started with the Keurig but the things kept failing and I grew tired of returning them - they spent more time in a return box than on my countertop, done with that! Found this and immediately grew to like it. Dependable, for the most part, aesthetically pleasing to the eye, compact, yah, nice fit for me. I quickly found out that no matter how functional they are, these are time limited - not grannies 50-75 year heirloom coffee pots, those days are long over. Had two of these spanning five to six years but eventually they give up. If I do the math correctly, if purchased one for an average of 2 years for $80.00, that means that 365x2=730 days. $80.00/730=rounded to 11 cents per day. Now I consider this a win considering the throw away appliances that are sold to us. Having said that, this third one from Cuisinart came to me defective. Quickly, the push to ON/OFF switch pressed on but did not spring back so that I could push to off, poor QC at the factory. Sent it back through Amazon's wonderful return policy, got refunded, and quickly ordered another as a replacement, works just fine. Here is your takeaway: set the thing up when it arrives, and immediately put it through it's paces - stress test it. Run vinegar through it, cycle it then with clean water to flush over, and over, and over again. Make sure all the features work, don't wait to the last minute. The thing works just fine now. Will it break tomorrow, God only knows but finally, 5Gold because I really like it, good luck!

Great product.
I purchased this coffee pot in 2022 and 4 years later it still works perfectly. We had bought Keurigs before this and they don’t even last a year before having something go wrong. I would definitely buy this again if I needed to. It’s worth every penny.

No good anymore
I used to love these, my first 3 were great! When my daughter got an apartment I gave one to her and bought another. When we got a cabin I took the 2nd one there and got another one. Again, after a time gave my son that one and ordered my FOURTH. I have a coffee area with a flat plastic placement under the machine and my daughter in law showed me the surface underneath was all wet, so it was leaking. Too late to send it back so Amazon gave me a refund and I promptly ordered another one. So my FIFTH, same thing. Leaking. Too late to send it back. Keurig, here I come.

Nice size for just a couple cups of coffee.
I have a larger Cusinart coffee maker at home and love it so much that I bought the smaller version for when I visit my daughter (she has a different kind of coffee maker that I don’t love). With Cuisinart there is no waiting for the water to heat up, it is instantaneous. I love that feature. K-cup machines are simple and easy to use, are easy to clean and provide the right amount of coffee with a choice of ounce settings.

Fill up reservoir with a pitcher to stop the leakage.
Personally for the price, I think it’s the best single cup coffee maker out there. Yes it leaks, IF, IF IF you take the reservoir off the machine BUT you don’t have to. Just fill up the reservoir with a pitcher and voila, it doesn’t leak. I only make 1-2 cups in the morning, so this fits the bill. You can use Kcups with this or your own coffee in their own basket they provide with the machine. I like using my own coffee so using the basket/pod they provide makes it worthwhile. It takes about 45 seconds for a cup to brew. So the fact it doesn’t have a timer or clock is negligible. It’s simple bare bones single cup machine where you can use your own preferred coffee and not Kcups.

Started out good....
I own and have owned other Cuisinart products and when my cheap Black and Decker single serve coffee maker died, I looked at this one. I liked the styling and especially the 3 year warranty. Worked well for the first 3 months. Then the cleaning light sequence went on indicating the unit needed cleaning. Went through the cleaning process and the cleaning lights continued. Cleaned one more time and called Cuisinart when the light indicators did not go away. Went through the process with the tech support person and since the unit was delivering the proper amount with each cup size selected, I was to disregard the lights and continue to use it, which I did. After 1 year and 2 months use and cleaning on a regular basis, it started acting oddly, delivering 10 oz when selecting the 6 oz button. 3 oz when selecting the 10 oz button, etc. I figured it needed another cleaning. Cleaned the unit with no change. Cleaned again with no change. Once again called Cuisinart, explained my problems and was told it was faulty. The rep had me cut the cord, send a picture of the unit along with my name and a problem call number. That was a week and a half ago and an email concerning the status has gone unanswered. Aside from some of the goofy cleaning lights over the past year, it has made great coffee quickly and easily. I'm dealing my french press at the moment and miss the quick cup I can get with this maker. I'm VERY disappointed in the snail-like pace with Cuisinart in replacing the unit. I always liked their products and hope this is an isolated incident. UPDATE: My second unit failed with similar problems about 9 months later. Since I already had a replacement on file, they sent me a new one. That one is currently experiencing the same flaws. I'm changing the my review to 2 stars for the warranty. I'm going with a Kuerig this time around.
