Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer Lace Up Ankle Brace Sprain Support Black, XS

My daughter twisted her ankle, and this ASO Ankle Stabilizer has been excellent. It fits perfectly, provides great support, and makes it much easier for her to walk comfortably. She says it feels secure without being uncomfortable. I highly recommend this product!

Wow, a great product to have for my ankle sprain. My measurement from heel to the top of the foot is 11” and size small fits better than XS. While the heel of the XS fits better the front opening (in the second picture) is too snug for my foot. The middle of my foot measures 8 1/4 “. A bit of bunching in the heel area with size small but I don’t feel it when wearing. So no issue with that. Size 7.5w in Brooks shoes and size 7 in dress shoes. Update: decided to keep the XS instead. No bunching at the heel.

I fell and injured my ankle, so I bought this brace. After hobbling around in pain for a couple days, I went to urgent care, where they confirmed I had a Grade 2 ankle sprain. The doctor confirmed this brace was virtually identical to what they’d have given me if I didn’t already have it, so it saved me quite a bit of money. It was perfect to stabilize my ankle as it healed for the next 6 weeks. It still looks like new! It was a big tough to put on those first several days, as it does require you to angle your foot a bit, which isn’t easy with significant swelling and pain, so I had to almost completely undo it each time at first. No big deal. As my swelling went down, I could leave it mostly done up, and just loosen the laces, to slide it on and do up the Velcro straps and go. Be sure to wear it with a normal crew sock, to prevent it from digging in uncomfortably. Oh also, I’m a woman and wear size 6.5 shoes, and I have fairly narrow feet. The XS fit perfectly, even while swelling was present.

These are amazing for stabilizing your ankles that I wear when playing tennis, but they do eat into the heal of you shoes and have to buy athletic shoes more often than I would like.

Bought for volleyball to keep from rolling ankles. They have good support/compression, material is good with good Velcro durability and adjustability. It takes a little to get used to to but overall there hasn’t been any complaints. The material is good quality and I recommend this purchase for sports if needed.

I have lax ankles that tend to supinate. I bought these before a serious ankle injury, after having my ankle roll while hiking in AZ. This fall, I took a tumble on a buckle in the road pavement and landed awkwardly, injuring several tendons in my foot. I was incredibly fortunate to already have this on hand, as it was the first thing the ortho surgeon recommended. Great support. Well-made.

My son fell off the monkey bars a while back and landed on his foot wrong and it bothers him periodically since; less as time goes by. He managed to get through soccer season but his foot/ankle often hurt after games/practice. With basketball season on us, my dad suggested I look for an ankle support of some type, this had helped my brother when he played after a bad sprain. Well, first let me say, it was a challenge to find the right size. The posting on Amazon's site does not help with sizing. I went to the manufacturer's site to discover how to pick the size and then ordered from Amazon. My son is 8 and wears a shoe size of about a 2 or 2 1/2 and I measured his ankle as instructed. I bought the extra small...it was too small. I then bought the small size. I measured the ankle as suggested but I think his leg is thicker than most kids his age. Anyway, the small boots fit and he loves them. He now practices and plays and his ankle does not hurt afterwards. I was concerned these might keep his ankle from strengthening. I found one article by a sports medicine doctor, and it was her opinion, and studies showed, that that is not the case. The braces support the ankles, prevent injury, and are advisable. I couldn't see how all that boot would fit in his basketball shoe and his shoe still fit, but they do. So, I am sold, I imagine he will wear these whenever playing sports from here on.

This was a very expensive buy for me. I splurged because I thought my ankle deserves the very best. But later, while waiting around for my COVID vaccine, I spotted the Walgreens brand. Because it was inexpensive, I decided to buy it on a whim just in case I sprain both ankles next time. Highly unlikely, I thought, so this cheap store brand should be ok. Well, it turned out the Walgreens is simpler to put on and it has metal stabilizers imbedded on both sides of the ankle. The stabilizer that this brand was boasting of turned out to be just an extension of the closure bands that one is supposed to cross over the instep then under the foot and anchor onto the sides of the ankle with Velcro. The Velcro was supposed to provide the stability! That mouthful shows how complicated putting on this ankle brace is without giving the support that I thought I was paying for. Also, this product is not designed for too much flexibility so measuring for size is a complex operation, which can end up with an improper fit. It also makes pulling the product on difficult, whereas the Walgreens model is a loose sleeve which only requires a single tug that tightens the brace laces around the ankle and secures with a Velcro tab. The stirrups are then connected under the foot with comfortably designed Velcro tabs. My ankle is now well, thank you very much!

The stabilizing straps are flimsy, do not provide adequate support.

Can't use the product. Wanted MEDIUM. Didn't realize you don't have anything bigger than EXTRA SMALL. A waste of time and money.

One of the best. Tried many other ones, even more expensive, but this one is the best. Very slim, fits in my snickers and provides a good support after ankle sprain. Can be used for judo too.

Bandage zum Schnüren für Sprunggelenk. Individuell an Fuß Anpassbar. Gekauft wegen vielfachen Verletzungen der Außen- und Innenbänder meiner Sprunggelenke. Wiederholtes Umknicken und Instabilität. Da ich viel Sport mache und gern Wander, dabei aber selbst in hohen Wanderstiefeln immer wieder bei kleinsten Unebenheiten umknicke, wollte ich eine Bandage, die gegen seitliches Umknickenn hilft. Bei Schuhgröße 39 mit schmalem Knöchel und eher breiterem Vorderfuß (Entenfüsse), hab ich XS gewählt. Sie passt. Beim billigmodell nahm ich ebenfalls die kleinste Größe, hier S, wel he ebenfalls passte. Die ASO wirkt stabil, sitzt aber besser am Fuß und ist weniger klobig als die in der Regel von Ärzten verschriebene Aircast. Mit der ASO komm ich in normale Schuhe rein, in Kletterschuhe trotzdem nicht. Schnürung macht sie deutlich individueller einstellbar als andere Schienen. Seitliche Stabilisierung ist gegeben, was Wickelbandagen fast nie leisten. Preislich find ich sie zu teuer. Es gibt ein vergleichbares Schnürmodell, zum halben Preis, das zudem einen einfacheren Schnellschnürmechanismus hat und etwas stabiler, dafür minimal klobiger wirkt. In Schuhe kommt man damit genauso rein, wie mit der ASO. Im Zweifel würd ich mich für die günstigere Variante entscheiden. ( siehe andere meiner Rezenssionen). Wegen Nichtrücksendbarkeit von Hygieneartikeln hab ich jetzt beide Schnürbandagen. Vielleicht kann ich in ein paar Wochen noch was zu Haltbarkeit und Dauertragekomfort sagen.

I was recommended this brace by my podiatrist for a weak ankle and it's been great! It looks complicated at first but it's very easy to use. I read the reviews about the size which made me nervous as it seems they don't accept returns. I wear US 7 but have a narrow foot and ankle so I went for the XS which has been a perfect fit. I already feel much better
