This little pill cutter has been a life saver for cutting tiny pills up for my Chihuahuas that have to take medication everyday...all the others i tried would cause them to crumble but this little gem hasn't done that at all! It has 2 blades one coming frome each side so it cuts the pill evenly and precisely and with minimal effort! Trust me when I tell you it is well worth the money, no more fighting with lil crumbs!!!

It's easy to use and works perfectly for small pills.

This pill cutter may work well for most people, but for my particular needs it is actually less useful than the older style cutters with a single top blade. I have two cats on medication, and their tablets are quite small (about 1/4 inch in diameter). To yield the correct dose, each tablet needs to be cut into quarters. This splitter does fine making the first cut - splitting the tablet into two halves - but does not work for splitting the halves into quarters. The half-moon shape of each half tablet no longer fits securely into the part of the cutter designed to hold it. At that point I have to revert to the older style splitter, which will (with some fussing) hold and split a half-moon shape. Also, although the spring mechanism of this device is cleverly designed to hold the pill snugly, I have found it to be a bit fiddly. Lastly, when the pill is in place and the top of the cutter positioned to press down to make the cut, there is a fair bit of wobble which can lead to slightly uneven splitting. The bottom line, based on my experience, is if you need to split tablets only in half, this cutter may work fine for you. Judging from the many positive reviews, it seems to work well for most.

I have over a dozen pill cutters in the past 3 years and this one is far superior to all of them. With cutters that cut multiple pills at once AND with cutters that do one at a time, there are A LOT of crumbles. This means a lot of my medication is dust and wasted. I cannot afford to waste my pills. Another problem I had was that the cuts were often uneven. This means that some days I was getting too much medication and on other days I got too little. This gem of a pill cutter may only do one at a time, but there is little to no dust or crumbs. The pills are always split perfectly even too. I took a closer look at the cutter to figure out why. The seems that the base is sitting on a shallow spring. I place the pill on the cutter and slide the blue lever to secure the pill into the space. This keeps the pill from moving. I place the lid back on the top and press. NOW HERE IS WHERE THIS CUTTER DIFFERS FROM ANY OTHER. Not only is there a blade on the top of the lid cutting downward, but there is also a blade under the base that cuts upward. So my pill is being cut from the top AND the bottom. Why has no one thought of this before? I have tried well over a dozen different types and brands of cutters and none of them has done this. It is utterly awesome! What a huge difference. I can do an entire bottle of pills and the amount of dust is no more than what other cutters made in just a few pills. Zero crumbs at all. All cuts are even. Adding those two pieces of materials (a tiny spring and a second blade) make all the difference in the world. I have no idea if it comes in multiple colors or not. I just took what was originally offered. I will never go back to a normal cutter again!

Little pricier than others but well worth it.

Cuts the pills perfectly in half without any powder residue. The pills I am cutting are not scored. I had tried cutting them with another pill cutter and they were very difficult to get them perfectly in half and always ended up with a lot residue. This pill cutter makes a clean, easy, perfct cut every time!

My 2 us dollars pill cutter(31 swedish crowns approximately) worked better , this is not worth even 1 dollar, uneven by design.

I bought this pill cutter, because my cat has been prescribed Gabapentin, and if you’ve EVER tried to ‘cut’ a Gabapentin Tablet evenly ‘in half’, you will know how almost IMPOSSIBLE it is to do, without it shattering into small pieces! I was tearing my hair out trying to cut these tablets! So I went searching for some sort of ‘alternative’ way to cut my cats Gabapentin Tablets, and I came across THIS WONDERFUL PILL CUTTER! Although initially I have to admit that I did have to think twice before actually purchasing it, because it is quite expensive, I was SO desperate, I thought I’d give it a go! And I am SO glad I did! It works slightly differently from most other pill cutters, because instead of using the standard ’single’ blade, this little pill cutter has TWO BLADES, one on the top blue cover, and another one that comes up from underneath the white bottom. The interior has a ‘guide’ that holds the pill securely in place, preventing it from sliding around whilst you cut it, and the ‘platform’ that you place the pill onto, is ‘floating’ on some sort of a ‘sprung mechanism’, so that when you push down on the blue cover, that contains the first blade, at the same time, the second blade comes up from the bottom, underneath the pill, so then cutting the pill with TWO blades instead of a single blade! A basic, simple concept, but it actually WORKS! I found that the most successful way to use this pill cutter, was to use both hands, and then push down on either side of the cutter, evenly, using the base of my thumbs (see photo 1). It managed to make light work in cutting all of my Tablets, which are less prone to shattering (see photo 2), but it did also manage to successfully cut my cat’s Gabapentin as well, upon ‘most’ attempts, but that wasn’t the fault of this pill cutter, the fault, as I’ve said, lies in the type of tablets that my cat is currently taking. So, to sum up, yes, it IS on the pricey side, but if you have to cut medication Tablets on a regular basis, the time and stress that this pill cutter will save you, makes it definitely WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD!

Fait le job , cependant pour les petits cachets, c’est vraiment très compliqué de les positionner correctement et de couper en 2 pieds en quatre. Et le coupe de pilule est vraiment très cher, mais c’est vrai qu’il fait très peu de miettes. Si on appuie assez fort pour couper en une seule fois.

I have tried a number of pill cutters and this one, while a bit more expensive, is by far the best. It has a blade below and above the pill so does a nice clean cut very easily.
