What kind of lighter or “fuel cell” it needed for the lighter to work?

I can go buy the cheap lighters take the assembly off of and they work like a champ inside there

Will it work with a BIC lighter, or only generic lighters?

No - Will only work with their supplied Refillable lighter. Mine leaked all the fuel out within 15 minutes of filling it. I am hoping for a replacement from them otherwise I'm Hosed. OH & had to reorder because the first one got lost in shipment. Not really happy.

Will it get hot enough to sweat copper?

Obviously it depends on the mass of the copper. You are not going to do plumbing with it, but wired connections like a guitar jack, yes.
