Other wool ironing pads I've had give off a strange smell - like the wool wasn't fully cleaned before the felting. This one DOES NOT SMELL! It's the perfect size for my art studio and I use it weekly to iron small patches and quilt binding on top of a little desk. I appreciate the silicone mat for my iron, but I don't use that as much as the pad itself. It's also easy to clean; I take a sticky roller and roll it off if it has lose threads, small pieces of fabric. Even after I spray my fabric with water and take a hot iron to the fabric... no smell! Love it! It's also great for kids to use because it can be set on the kitchen table or on a lower surface (my ironing board is too high for a kid to reach). A+ product.

Love this mat. Works great for sewing projects. Use it on top of kitchen table, sometimes on top of my bed.

Nice, thick mat that I keep on my antique sewing cabinet. Protects with a full size iron and also my tiny handheld iron for when I'm doing sewing projects. Nice size too

Purchased this wool mat not for ironing but to glue onto the sole of my boots for use while roofing. I actually managed to divide the mat in half so that it was half the original thickness and using hot glue gun attached it to the sole of my boots and trimmed it to match the sole. This made my boots far less slippery on the shingle roof I was working on and my confidence increased considerably. The mat was inexpensive however I wished they sold one about half the thickness so that I would not have had to spend the time bisecting it. Worked absolutely great for my application
