Will this work on a short-haired chihuahua or another small dog with fine fur?

Not on a short, fine coat. Our rake is built for thick fur and dense double coats, so on very short fur the teeth glide over the surface and lift little. Heavy shedders gain the most.

Can I use this rake on my cat, or is it made only for dogs?

Yes, our rake works on cats as well as dogs with thick fur or dense double coats. Many cats settle into it after a few short sessions, so keep the first passes gentle and brief.

Will this help during shedding season without fur ending up all over the house?

Yes, our rake thins out loose undercoat through shedding season, and the fur lifts clear of the teeth instead of packing into them. Brush outdoors or somewhere you can sweep easily.

How do I use both sides of this pro grooming tool on a matted, shedding coat?

Start with our nine-teeth side to work through mats and tangles, then switch to the seventeen-teeth side to thin and deshed. Keep pressure light, watch your angle, and plan on several gentle passes.

Is this rake safe on my dog's skin, or will the sharp-looking teeth scratch?

The teeth are sharpened but finely rounded, so our rake lifts mats, tangles and loose hair without irritation or scratching. It looks sharper than it feels, so keep strokes light and follow the coat.
