High quality!
I was pretty much blown away by this. Having been through perhaps 4 or 5 different RGB controllers this one takes the cake. The design is better than I've ever seen and the control is far better than anything I've encountered as yet. The potentiometer even has an aluminum knob! This is used to control your sensitivity, just like any other music controller. The touch controller is very smooth, transitions are effective and accurate. That could have been built slightly better but works well enough. The wall mount is an awesome idea for the remote as well. The wattage is very highly rated and I look forward to pushing the limits on it, rather than using two controllers or a repeater and controller separately. I look forward to using these in the future.

Works well with aux cord, not so much with mic
first of all, I drive a loud car. if you drive a newer car with no aftermarket exhaust or anything like that the microphone might work better for you. but if you use the microphone you have less options for music reactive modes. with the microphone there's six or seven with the aux cable there's 15. thing is that the aux cable isn't all that easy to set up in a car stereo and will most likely require the purchase of extra adapters. the way I got it to work best was by taking two RCA y splitters and splitting my outputs to my amplifiers (L and R rear channels although doing one side and the sub output might work a little better) and then using an RCA to 3.5 mm adapter to run out to the unit. in effect I created an AUX out cable. this works very well but it wasn't the simplest thing to do. with the aux cable set up though, the unit works great. where the microphone will only flash between on and off, with the aux cable it will vary the brightness depending on volume so you get more of a pulsey feel rather than like a strobe light. although I was very skeptical when I purchased this unit, I've been very satisfied with it and have been using it for a couple months now without issue

Amazing for the money
I use the music effects a lot. I had to use a High to low level line converter on a stereo so I can use this in a baot with the stereo, but the effect is awesome. Much better then It listening. There is no delay in the Effects with the audio beats. Also I added a headphone volume adjuster to be able to control sensitivity, There isn't one if your plugging the audio into this controller. The only adjustment is for the mic. Works Great!

LED light strip controller that actually works
This device actually controls color and frequency of lights. Hooked up to an audio device works well. The only feature I would really like to see would be a plug in for the LED lighting cable. You will need an adaptor to hook up the LED light stripe and this device. Nice product.

Worked good for a while. Won't sync to audio feed anymore.
Easy to install. Split my subwoofer feed to this to sync to the bass in my campervan. Wired it to 2 pairs of ATV speaker pods with RGB LED rings in the corners of my van. It worked for several months but now the music sync stopped working. Still flashes and changes colors and stuff. Might try the name brand version and see if the quality is better. I did have some subwoofer humming when first hooked up. Connected the grounds closer to the subs and the humming went away.

The remote that came with this unit is easily the best from any controller I have ever worked ...
First off, this unit only comes with the remote, controller, and a handy dandy aux cord and splitter. As far as wiring goes, you will need to provide your own power connection and RGB LED connection via the wire screw in ports. Don't worry, this is not very difficult! Second, the remote. The remote that came with this unit is easily the best from any controller I have ever worked with. All the keys are backlit and the controller even has an RGB indicator built in that will give you a preview of your selected color choice! In addition, the remote and controller operate on Radio Frequency meaning that the range is much higher than that of the much more commonly used IR remotes. The controller itself is well built and boasts a nice metal housing. On the controller is a built-in microphone for music reactivity and an aux connection for music reactivity. I always use the aux connection because it is much more effective than the microphone. Sometimes the music reactivity leaves a bit to be desired but all in all, it is very good.

Was good while it worked
Had this item hooked up for a month then it just stopped working. Worked well while it did work but died very prematurely unfortunately. Returning for a refund since experience with this type of failure is indicative of poor quality.

Worth the cost as a controller, but don't get your hopes up about the music reactivity.
For the price, it's a really nice controller. It's way better than the last version, which I used for 2 years. It is pretty sweet that the remote control communicates via radio frequency compared to the cheaper controllers that use infrared. I wired up my system to hide the controller and ugly power supplies in a closet, and the remote works seamlessly from 2 rooms away! It makes no difference where you aim the remote, if it's under blankets, or in your pocket for example. I do agree with the other reviewers that the music mode is not that useful; way too sensitive, which is a disappointment. More subtle changes would be nice. Most people don't want a strobe effect, which is what happens. To be fair, getting lights to react to music in a pleasant way is very complicated, particularly if your expecting the world out of a strand of same colored lights as opposed to individual programmable lights (e.g., nano pixels). I've come to accept that in order to get the type of music response that I think most of us are hoping for, then we would need to be running it through much more expensive equipment and using some computer software to analyze frequencies and dynamics. However, I would love if they built in a frequency crossover into the next generation of this unit, which could cut down on the over-reactivity of the controller to subtle music cues. I would pay an additional $15 easily if they gave us more control with the music reactivity (e.g., crossover). I have a feeling the engineers are trying to give us the best product features for the cheapest price, but there is only so much they can do for such a reasonable price.
