I used these to make some workbench 'pop-up' dogs (from a Youtube video) and they work perfectly.

Fitted to a range of kitchen cabinet doors and drawers. Positives ;- strong latching action, magnetic effect holds the door closed but can be easily overcome if required. Negatives ;- will not fit into a 10mm hole as the fitting instructions state. The internal locking mechanism affects the shape of the plastic casing so it is not round and is nearer 12mm in diameter. Any pressure applied to the casing if forced into an undersize hole will adversely affect the latching action. An oversize hole will require the use of glue to retain the mechanism in position. Fitted carefully into the correctly sized hole , this mechanism works well and is fit for purpose.

Does the job I had them for.

I bought these to have some handless doors for my wardrobe, and while they work there are two things that you need to note before buying - They’re not every strong. One of the doors is slightly larger than the others and it struggles to push the door open, I may have to add another one but still not sure. At the moment have to open the door next to it to then open the door manually. - They’re wider than 10.5mm. I used a 10.5mm drill bit and they did not fit, which then resulted it not such a seamless finish. I would recommend using and 11mm drill bit. I mean you get what you pay for, if you want something a bit strong and sturdy, I would suggest avoiding these.

Bad quality

I bought these because of the travel distance and ability to place in a drilled hole (12mm). I wanted them to make some pop up dogs for my woodworking bench and have been able to reduce their compressed length to approx 4.5 cm which suits my need perfectly. Even have some left over so may even get to use them for their intended purpose!!!

Fitted these to cabinets in my garage they work well and I have to taken off all my handles which now gives a flush finish.

Difficult to install, once it gets pushed in it can't be corrected. Does not work, if the hole size is big. Unless it comes out fully if can't be closed again.

Perfect for dog holes, as previous commenter said, use 11,5 mm drill and they will fit very well. Only thing to add is to take off the 3 little ribs on the push end to make sure the mechanism doesn't get jammed from the pressure. (Edit: I find 12 mm works better, the pressure doesn't make the dogs bulge, so the fit is more even) Another top tip: unscrew the height adjustment a little when fitting the dogs so when you want to get them flush you just adjust the height, no chisel needed!
