Her reading has really taken off this year, and these books are perfect for her. We have the first three, and she has devoured all of them. She struggles with some words here and there, but for the most part, she can read these on her own. (At school she's reading at an H-I level at the moment. She was F-G when she first read the first Owl Diary book.) The cute colorful illustrations keep the book from being overwhelming, and the diary format is fun. The stories aren't complex, but they aren't too predictable either. Others have mentioned the made-up words like "flaptastic." Those can throw my daughter for a loop, but she likes figuring them out and thinks they're funny. I think it's a fantastic way for kids to figure things out based on context. We've already pre-ordered the next book in the series. We can't wait! Review: Started Books - Great book for the start of reading. Simple words but super fun stories. Love this series, it’s so unique and fun!

Great Children's Book
What a great series! My daughter absolutely loves these books. The diary format of the book complete with cute illustrations is a great way to encourage reading. The stories are fun and the characters are lovable! My daughter has read these books over and over again. There were plenty of moments when she was reading that she laughed out loud and then had to share what she just read! That to me is a great children's book!

My daughter loves these books. This is one the series that she cannot stop reading. They are very cute and she is partial to owls, so I do not mind buying them for her. I am all for anything that encourages my kids to read. Whenever my daughter gets a new Owl Diaries, she dives right in and reads it as fast as she can. She might even go back and read them again because of how much she loves them.

A great series
These books are favorites of my first grader. The reading is easy enough with lots of pictures and graphics to hold attention. They are really the first books she's read on her own without us. Some of the themed made up words "Feather-tastic" are challenging but we're working through them. Great series for kids.

great for beginner readers
my daughter was having a struggle wanting to read. wanted chapter books like other kids but would be overwhelmed with all the words on one page. this book has given a boost of confidence i feel. it is a chapter book but with a comic book like style. she is interested to read and feels she is making progress. cute stories too.

Great value
Easy to read and my granddaughter loved the book. She was 7 years old when I purchased this book. Even though it was easy reading for her. It still kept her interest in the series.

These books are beautifully written and illustrated. My 5 year old daughter loves them, she has all 4 and is eagerly awaiting the release of book 5. They are, in our opinion, suitable for children reading at level 7 and above based on Oxford reading tree used in schools. The chapters are the perfect length to read at bedtime and the book is the right length in terms of child interest. My only word of caution would be that this is the second one purchased from Amazon and it was the American version (mom instead of mum) the first book was the British version and the other 2 we purchased from a bookshop ensuring we got the uk version. Highly recommended!

This is a nice little book with a meaningful story in it. I don't collect these books in order, instead I randomly buy a book from the series. I liked Eva a lot. Reviewed by Saranya, 11 years old.
