Matterport Pro2 3D Digital Camera

Absolutely love this camera! I was using other 360 cameras to complete Matterport Tours and I had some clients ask about quality issues (resolution and layout of the 3D model). Since getting the Matterport Pro2 Camera, I've been amazed at how great the scans look. Huge upgrade and well worth the money. Not to mention, less errors. The 360 cameras used to throw up a ton of alignment errors while scanning causing for an unnecessary amount of time wasted. Now, I only get an error maybe 1 out of every 100 scans or so. I can't say enough about this camera!! If you're on the fence, get it.

Can’t use without a yearly subscription

The Matterport Pro 2 takes great interior images. The only drawback is that you can't do tours outside during bright times of the day. You can still do 360 shots and link them to your tour, but you won't be able to create an exterior tour. Some users have had luck taking exterior tour shots early in the morning or at dusk but I haven't tried that yet. I use the matterport in combo with a year old Samsung tablet. From what I've read, you get the fastest processing when using it with an Ipad pro and can shave off around 30 seconds per shot.

As my business begins to expand more, I was in need of a 2nd Matterport camera. Luckily there was a prime deal and Matterport discount when I bought it! These machines will truly change the way we perceive virtual reality, and I have been working with them for over 4 years now. Highly recommended for a multitude of business needs!

I routinely achieve high quality results with this 3D Camera. Quick and easy to use, each scan takes 20-30 seconds and your ready to move to the next point. Doorways are a bit tricky and should always be open when shooting and moving through a space. Incredible battery life over 8 hours on a full charge. Requires an iPad of iPhone to operate and capture pictures which are than transmitted to Matterport for final processing. This camera does have some heft and I highly recommend a nice hard case such as a Nanuk case. While shooting the iPad connects directly to the Camera's internal hotspot for uninterrupted communication. Couldn't be more pleased with this product.

Camera is good for standard sized rooms indoors, that's all. Range is low and scanning is drowned out by any direct sunlight causing scan failures. I would give the camera itself a 3 star if you need accurate scans for measuring and 5 star if all you need is 3D photos. My 1 star review is for the Matterport company itself. Matterport's customer services sucks. They have a new camera that came out less than two months after I purchased the Pro2, the new camera uses laser instead of IR to scan so it will work outside and for larger spaces. There was no indication of this new model coming out or I would have waited. All my work is outside and the Pro2 barely works for that, but it seemed like the best option I was going to have at the time. I called and asked if there was anyway to return the camera for upgrade credit, it was used twice in the 50ish days I had it and I still have all the packaging and everything, and I would obviously pay the difference in price. In the end they just said no, but the customer service to even get to that point was garbage. The first person I talked to in Support told me they had a 60 day window to upgrade when a new model is released, exactly what I wanted to do, but said I had to talk to Sales. Sales told me I had to talk to support... support then told me that there was no window, that they didn't know why the first guy told me that, and that I had to talk to sales. I was sent back and forth several times, often hung up on while on hold waiting, and was quoted multiple conflicting policies by each person I talked to. I ended up with an email to both departments and was finally just told that there was no policy for upgrades or returns towards new release equipment. They did offer at this point to talk to their support manager and see if there were any options for me, I was never called me back. Overall, decent camera for inside, garbage for outside, garbage customer service.

Great Product, You can definitely make money using this device.

I hesitated to get this until one client left for another photographer. I bought this device and almost right away I made my money back and got the client to come back to me. Worth the investment if you are a photographer or real estate agent.

We are new to the world of the Virtual Tour but this piece of equipment is outstanding. Very simple to use, great imagery produced and its been solid ever since purchase. We just need to get more clients on board to be able to push it more. Thanks Matterport.
