Empty Bags (a GOOD thing!)
The day a package of Yupik sesame sticks arrive, I have to empty the entire bag(s) โ and portion it out amongst several 30oz/850g BPA-free food storage canisters. Otherwise, the entire bag(s) will surely be consumed in one sitting by the household. One canister is simply to store half (50%) away for restocking the 2-3 canisters that I plan to make at any time. Using a food scale makes it easier for me to divide the sesame sticks among the containers, but Iโm not rigorous about the measurements, according to my eye & the scale (bearing in mind, Iโm prepping for practical & reasonable human consumption, and not a lab experiment.) Now thenโฆ Of the remaining half that Iโve portioned for immediate use, I put a third (30%) of that portion in a โcustom mixโ that will be continually replenished until Iโm all out of its ingredients/components. This custom mix also includes โ to varying degrees so that the sesame sticks do appear to equally blend into the mix โ the following: unsalted but roasted peanuts, sunflower seeds, cashew pieces, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and crispy rice with seaweed crackers (a Japanese variety that can be found at โinternational,โ โworld-foods,โ or various Asian markets). If youโre still with me this farโฆ Of the remaining 70% remaining (of the 50% for immediate use), I portion about two-thirds (65-70% roughly) to its own container to be enjoyed on its own. This container is not replenished by the stock I set aside; once the sole portion is gone, thatโs when I generally know to order another bag of Yupik from Amazon. And finally, of whatโs left for immediate use (roughly about 30-35% of the 50% apportioned), I throw will roughly chop, or throw in my mortar & pestle to roughly grind. I use the roughly chopped bits/ground pieces on top of salads. (like croutons). Also, I will also often make homemade furikake so I will finely chop/grind the sesame sticks to use my furikake mix, which mainly consists of spicy roasted seaweed/nori and sesame seeds (that I prefer to roast myself, as well). For those who may not know, furikake is a topping/dressing for steamed rice. Though, not exact in terms of tradition, but the concept is similar to how Italians will grate a small piece of hard cheese on top of plated pasta dishes. So pairing grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, Pecorino Romano, Grana Padano, or aged Asiago on your pasta as itโs served is similar to seasoning a bowl of steaming rice with your choice of furikake mix/flavor. And, I like to make homemade furikake with Yupikโs seasame sticks, grated medium-fine, and added to a what inspires me usually that generally always includes seaweed (nori) and roasted sesame seeds. I think the length of this review speaks to how much we like and how often I use Yupikโs sesame sticks. Iโve tried other brands before from Yankeetraders, Trader Joeโs, and a long list of other small batch suppliers and makers. I now only buy Yupik for the reasons covered in this review. Itโs never oily (meaning, no residue oil on fingers as itโs being eaten), always fresh out of the bag when we get it (cannot say the same for other products that have arrived stale or have strange or rancid aftertaste), and it is flavored exactly the way I expect a sesame stick to taste. I can attest to having sampled relatively more than the average consumer, as sesame sticks are obviously part of our daily โbreadโ โ so to speak โ in out home. Also, itโs the better value to boot. Comparably Yupik beats every other supplier on the price of its one bag (2.2lbs). Have a quick look-see or search on the cost/price per ounce/lb, and itโs head-scratching how Yupik sells a better quality product at so much more a reasonable price (regardless of current inflation). Anyway, I obviously cannot say enough (good) things on Yupikโs sesame sticks. By the way, we do buy other Yupik products sold on Amazon โ but the sesame sticks are is a staple item in the pantry. I make sure to keep the extra โreplenishmentโ stock on-hand, and I am (and have been) harangued if the โonly-sesame sticks containerโ is ever empty for more than a day or two. Iโve learned to take precautions, on when to re-order. Therefore, another 2.2lb bag is on its way before I have to send smoke signals for fear of being home without additional sesame sticks on hand (exaggerating to instill a sense of panic; using hyperbole for dramatic effect โ for no reason other than having been under COVID-19 โhouse arrestโ gave me too much time to be โcreativeโ yet feeling that, at anytime my time could be up). Should Amazon stop carrying/selling Yupik sesame sticks โ I shudder at the thought, as I cling to my food scale. ;)

Great for snacks or on salads
The Yupik brand is one I always return to, and now I never stray from it no matter what product I purchase; I come back for more. The quality is always top-notch, and whether Iโm buying dried fruits, nuts, or these sesame sticks, I can depend on receiving an excellent product. These salted sesame sticks are a bargain and taste fantastic. Sometimes Iโll snack on them, but usually I like putting them on salads. They have the right amount of salt and crunch, along with protein and fiber. Overall, Iโm extremely happy and will continue to purchase from this company.

Good enough, but not TJs
Bought as I can't always get to TJ's for theirs. These are a bit healthier, but they also taste healthier (i.e. a bit bland). Good value and the resealing bag actually works. So, if you adding these to anything, they are fine. If you have an addiction and eat them from the pouch.... TJ's are better.

Great taste, nice large size.
Great price for a yummy snack. I add these to our salads to give variety instead of croutons. Nice to mix it up. Also handy to throw in with the pretzels when I make party mixes. Came in good shape.

Product a disappointment!!
Had the factory sealed bag in my pantry and finally had a reason to open them. When I opened the bag the smell was horrible. I have never had an item in the sealed bag go rancid before. Had my husband check also and he agreed. Tried tasting just to make sure and the taste was even worse. This is not they first Yupik brand item I have ordered. Always use their nuts and they are great. This item was a huge disappointment!!!

DEAL OF THE DAY!
My husband and I both love these. I've been buying a different brand from my local grocers. These are 2 times the price for 4 times the amount. I'd say that's the deal of the day!

Not a expected - taste wise
I was extremely excited to receive these because I love sesame sticks. There are a lot in the bag and it can last you for quite some time, which is a very good plus to me. Especially considering I love sesame sticks. Well unfortunately the taste was not what I expected. It's somewhat hard to explain. It tastes like sesame sticks but not the sesame sticks that I was expecting it to taste like. I'm still able to have it with salads, as a snack, and with other things that I usually have sesame sticks with but the taste just kind of throws it off for me. I don't know if it's because I feel like it's just too much of a sesame type taste and flavor. Again can't really put it into words. It just was not the taste that I was expecting. Yet if you happen to be one who purchases this and you like the taste, then you have a really good bang for your buck because the size of the bag and the price, to me, is pretty worth it. It is very crunchy, not too salty but a little salty depending on what you eat it with, and it's honestly a healthier snack than picking up potato chips and the like.
