Having read about it, I was completely going to be pumped up to see how it would perform. Here is my in-depth review after using it daily for a few months. The brush, itself, has a very sleek design wherein it comes with a long wooden handle, making it easy to reach areas for scrubbing purposes. What makes this back scrubber different is the double-sided brush head, where one side is meant for exfoliating and the other side is for a softer scrub. Constructed with a durable wooden handle, this provides a firm hold on all sides, even when wet. On the exfoliating side, the bristles feel firm yet soft against the skin; from the soft-scrub side, much softer. The long handle does make a big difference in reaching the areas lying at the farthest places of the body, thus easy on the back. The brush head soaps up quite well with any kind of soap or body wash. The bristles can show their strength even after repeated use; gentle, it works really great either way, wet or dry. My skin texture has improved much within just a few weeks of regular use. The exfoliating side really does remove dead skin cells, and my skin feels smoother and refreshed after using it. I bought one of these brushes when I was about to have a hip replacement operation and knew that bending down would be difficult for at least a couple of months. I use the brush to help me wash my feet. With the brush, which has a convenient length handle, I can reach to wash the tops, sides and bottoms of my feet. The brush has soft bristles on one side and slightly harder ones on the other. The softer side is better for getting between my toes. I use the brush each day and hang it up to dry after use - the brush came with a handy stick-on hook which I put on the tile wall of my bathroom. The brush dries fully during the day and is ready for use the next day. After three months of use, the brush looks and works as well as it did when it was new. I know that some reviewers report deterioration but I have not seen any.

I’ve tried various items in the shower and bath to give my back a good scrub. As I can’t always be sure that somebody will be around to do this for me, something I can use myself with a long handle is ideal! I chose this Metene Back Scrubber as it is highly rated on Amazon. Many satisfied customers, good value and a robust no-nonsense design. This scrubber features a double sided head with two different types of bristle. The stiffer side is the one for me. As a bloke, I have quite a hairy back and need something that isn’t too light touch to make sure that I can genuinely give my back a good scrub. Apply a bit of shower gel or soap to the brush and off you go. It really is pretty invigorating either in the shower or the bath. The stiff brush has a good cleaning effect and is one of the better scrubbers I have tried. It seems to be standing up well to repeated use and is easy to keep clean. The softer brush offers a nice contrast for more delicate places although as my main use of the scrubber is my back, I don’t use this side very often. The handle is long and made of good quality wood with a smooth finish. It has several rubber pads on the handle to help with grip which are a useful addition. Although the stiffer of the brushes gives an excellent scrubbing action, I wouldn’t say that it is exfoliating in the usual sense of the word. Scrubbing straps or mitts that have a loofah texture or creams containing salts, or ground apricot kernels or coconut shells tend to give a better exfoliating effect if that is important to you. The scrubber has a string/rope loop to make it easy to hang up in the shower and also comes with a self-adhesive hook for that purpose. All in all, I’ve found this back scrubber to be an excellent purchase. It is very good value for money in my opinion and very much recommended.
