Color Primer Spray Paint, Matt Black, 400ml, 13.5oz - Acrylic Spray Undercoat for Miniature Painting - Spray Primer for Plastic Miniatures

I paint a lot of miniatures and this product works well for metal and printed miniatures. IT DOES NOT work well with the BONES miniatures from Reaper. Use their paint for this spray will not dry on that material. Nothing bad about Reaper. Great stuff, just this spray paint won't mix with that plastic. Citadel and other plastic, this product is fantastic. Resin, PLA and PETG works good. No problems. New nozzle setup keeps pretty clean too. Its a little more in cost but worth the price when it comes to painting.

Perfect to use with light layers that don't clog up details. Dries fairly quickly and has great color match with the paint series.

I'm on my second can. After a thorough shake it goes on smoothly and does a good job penetrating into nooks and crannies, even on complex miniatures.

First: this stuff works. Goes on very smoothly and easily, provides a great base/primer coat that's even, not too thick, and gives your paint something to grab on to. It dries a bit lighter than expected; almost feels like a very dark grey rather than deep matte black. But it's not a huge difference. However, this is pricey stuff. By my rough estimation, there's enough primer in the can for giving about 80 medium minis two light coats of primer. By contrast: three years ago, I bought some basic black acrylic paint and some paint medium (for a combined total of less than half the price of this single can) and there's been more than enough for me to continue to use them years later. It's also important to note than unless you have an interior space with very good venting, this primer needs to be used outside...which means for a lot of folks (myself included), this is something you can only use half the year, at best, as it needs a steady warmer temperature. If you're a hardcore or professional mini painter, then this is probably a good buy for you. If you're a casual painter or just starting out, I recommend using a combination of basic black acrylic paint and acrylic paint medium for your base/prime layers.

Army Painter's primers are a great option for speedy priming and basecoating of miniatures. It is not truly "matte", as there is a slight shine to the finish, but it can be covered up with a matte basecoat if you wish. my entire Aeldari army for Warhammer 40K is primed and basecoated in Army Painter Matt Black, which i highly reccomend for it's smooth finish and ease of access.

My youngest son Loves to paint minis. He does an awesome job and will only use Army Painter Color Primer Spray Paint and their Paints. He loves this stuff and says it's the best there is out there.

I'm not an extremely experienced painter, but the army painter primer has worked well on my figures so far. No issues with clogging, whether I spray just a little or more than intended it doesn't obscure any details. Mainly just posting a review to highlight the good customer service of Army Painter. I live in Minnesota where temperature can go from snowing and 30 degrees to sunny and 75 degrees in less than a week, which is exactly what happened a few weeks ago. My paint can must have gotten too hot in the sun and the can warped from gas expansion. I emailed army painter's customer support email and received a candid, conversational, not copy pasted response the next day responding directly to my inquiry (as well as a completely unrelated question about another Army Painter product I owned which I included in my email) and asking for my address. They shipped a new can to me without even making me jump through any hoops of providing proof of purchase.

Réticent à employer des apprêts sur mes maquettes, ce produit me réconcilie avec la méthode. Pour les problèmes de buse indiqués dans certains commentaires, effectivement elle est différente par rapport au buse des autres bombes. Je ne l'ai pas employée. Une fois sèche et tendue, la couche de peinture ne masque pas les détails et elle adhère parfaitement au plastique. L'opacité est très importe. je ferai l'acquisition d'autres teintes.
