Can the rings be used to make a ice cream cake?

Yes. I suggest that you line the ring with acetate so when you remove the ring it will be much easier

Can these rings be used for a funnel cake machine? Can they stand the heat?

wouldn't use it for that, it's pretty thin - really meant to cut through layers of thin cake and fillings. Id go for something like cast iron or just freehand it.

I believe that it was from China. It was a piece of crap. Asymmetric, not aligned, layer circles were of varying size and didn't line up. Mine was unusable. I would not recommend this at all.
