I love this pasta maker. The gears are so smooth and it attaches firmly to my quartz countertop. I have made lasagna sheets, fettuccini, spaghetti and ravioli (I purchased the ravioli maker). If you use the ravioli maker/cutter, be sure your dough and cheese filling is not too wet. Else you will have a ricotta filled mushy mess on your hands. I had a cheaper/lesser quality maker prior, but it broke in no time. The gears were always clunky and the rollers did not always move correctly when changing the thickness. I generally make a lot of pasta and preserve it at a time. I know electric machines would be faster, but I appreciate the art of making it by hand.

Our daughter bought a cheap Chinese knock-off of this Marcato Atlas 150. She wasted her money; it was AWFUL in all regards (including the fact that its rollers were chrome-plated and the plating started coming off, sticking to the pasta!!!). So we decided to finally buy the Atlas 150 kit (which we'd been considering for years); what a HUGE difference from the cheap Chinese junk! Everything wrong with the knock-off is countered in this Marcato unit with superb quality and excellent results every time. I do not have time to write all the plusses of this unit compared to the knock-off; just suffice it to say it is like comparing a Rolls Royce to an old Yugo hatchback.

Marcato makes the best hand crank pasta maker out there. Built like a tank, easy to use and FUN. It makes me want to make pasta, just so I can use the machine.

This was a great purchase for my spouse who does 95% of the cooking. He's been having a great time making raviolis. They're delicious, too.

Tengo un accesorio del Kenwood para amasar pasta, pero por ser eléctrico es muy difícil de controlar, aun a la mínima velocidad. Esta maquina manual es mucho más fácil de usar y produce unos resultados inmejorables. Es muy robusto, de alta calidad y con este set se puede hacer 4 tipos de pasta y así representa muy buena relación precio calidad. Hay muchos contradictorios comentarios sobre el accesorio para hacer ravioli, y por lo tanto tuve que probarlo por mí mismo. Suponiendo que la pasta haya sido bien amasada y es suficientemente tiesa, es bastante fácil hacer raviolis con un poco de cuidado. La pasta tiene que ser cortada recta a los extremos y de anchura máxima de la maquina para que se rellene bien. También hace falta asegurar que el relleno esté bien distribuida cuando lo cargas, para evitar que algunos raviolis no salgan vacios. No creo que sea fácil tener éxito a la primera, pero con un poco de practica y paciencia es cierto que se puede producir unos raviolis estupendos. Cualquier que dice que no, dice más sobre la limitación del usuario que de la máquina. En cuanto a los espaguetis, etc., es super fácil de usar, aunque sí, es aconsejable tener un "tendedero" de pasta para que no se queden pagados. La única pega es la limpieza, que requiere bastante cuidado, dado que no se debe meter nada dentro del agua. El motivo es por los engranos, que no son de acero inoxidable y puede oxidarse si se mojan. Eso aparte, es una maravilla de maquina.
