Does anyone have specific feedback on cleaning? When I did the classic "hot water" approach, it looked like my cast iron was rusted (similar residue).

The trick is to dry cast iron quickly. After washing, place it on a burner and turn on the burner for a short time so the residual water evaporates. That is also the time when I might add a coating of oil then wipe off the excess oil after the pan has cooled. I have been doing this with cast iron pans for a zillion years and these hand-me-down pans will probably outlast the apocalypse. Happy cooking!

Somebody attached an instruction to the review, and it says to use it between 350 to 400 degrees. Is that how low you cook your pizza?

You did not read the instructions correctly. 350 - 400deg is the temp for seasoning or re-seasoning. Not for cooking. I use mine at 650deg on my big green egg for pizza every time.

What is the inside diameter (lip to lip)?

The rim on the pan is about a 1/4 inch, so I would guess the inside diameter is about 13.5 inches.

Does this work well for pizza on a gas grill?

yes...works great on the grill.
