Makita 195858-1 Trimmer Head

Bought several of these when they were on offer a couple of weeks ago - great value under £4 each. Every bit as good as the original spool fitted to the machine when new. It's pretty obvious from reading some of the one star reviews that people are fogetting to transfer the spring into the new spool when changing. If you don't do this, the filament will run out in a very short space of time. If you've inadvertantly binned the spring you can buy original replacements on this site.

Good strimmer cable. A little fiddly to replace the existing spool but nothing too crazy. Probably a combination of the spool and the strimmer but the self feed function is hit and miss

It’s a much better design that the original strimmer head. It is very easy to install and works really well. Very pleased with my purchase, but it’s not the first one I’ve bought. They are not for heavy duty use on a long term basis, but they are priced so that it’s not that expensive to buy a replacement.

First time of using it, it ran out of thread before I finished strimmimg the lawn. Very disappointed

Fits nicely and works well. Don’t often use the strimmer so this lasts me a very long time and if good value for money.
