.22 synthetic marauder awesome straight out of the box!
Within use 30 minutes after I received it. Awesome unit. From amazon I also purchased a 3000psi 80 cf stainless scuba tank, a Ninja Paintball scuba fill station that fit this k type valve, and a 34" fill whip hose extension for ease of gun placement during filling. I was able to precisely fill my .22 marauder to the psi I wanted. I chose 2800 psi and used crosman premier hollow-points. I put an old weaver steel .22 scope on it and it cleared the rotary clip fine. I fired two shots through just about the same hole high 1" right 2". Adjusted the scope fired two more shots in the same hole dead on at 30 yards. The gun is quiet! More so than the CB shorts I have used in my .22 rimfire rifle. There was a squirrel 3 ft from my target while I was firing and it just kept milling around. I dispatched it with a head/brain shot, but just like on youtube's squirrel channel videos it makes them flail though instantly lethal. I shot 11 more within the hour as that is the need I purchased the rifle for. I shot for the heart on all the rest and they just flopped over.I am in a residential area and the squirrels kept getting under the hood of my hunting vehicle and chewing wiring. I called our local police department and here in Georgia they said it was fine to use a pellet gun.The pellet hitting seemed louder than the shrouded gun. I was hesitant and worried from past online reviews for the .22 model. The .25 was more gun than I needed, but I wanted more than the .177. I am very pleased. The gun functioned flawlessly out of the box, was dead on accurate, is quiet, has a great trigger and has already put a dent in my squirrel population. I see a lot of squirrel stew in my future. I may have to see if Bubba Gump has a few recipes like he did for shrimp. This is my first pre-charged pneumatic. I had a lot of frustration with springers. I like a gun that is more interested in ease of use and accuracy than finicky hold positions. I know the springer artillery hold position is an art form, but I'll keep these instant results.

Stunning accuracy
I've been using break barrel spring/gas piston air rifles for pest control but the last one I bought lacked usable accuracy and was returned. I decided to take the plunge into PCP and got a .22 caliber Marauder. Was worried when it arrived with zero pressure until I read the accompanying notice which indicated the rifle was de-gassed and shipped that way due to shipping restrictions. I also read where the factory had pressure checked the Marauder for 72 hours and fired it several times to check barrel accuracy, the test target showing the shot grouping was included. After pressurizing and setting the rifle up I moved to my outdoor target range to sight my Tasco 3-9x40mm scope in at 25 yards using a soft bench rest. Once sighted in, the Marauder consistently fired shot after shot through the same hole only slightly enlarging it. I changed from using nickle sized targets to pea sized and still never missed a single shot. Quiet, deadly accurate and consistent, what more could you ask for? Definitely the most backyard friendly (quiet) air gun I've owned. I bought a hand pump for pressurizing the rifle and am still glad I did. From 0psi to 3000psi required several hundred pumps, but I just did about forty at a time before taking a break so it wasn't strenuous. I get forty shots with the .22 caliber Marauder before the pressure gauge drops near 2000psi. Refilling from 2000psi back up to 3000psi takes about eighty or so pumps. At six feet tall and 180lbs pumping is pretty easy for me, I just use my weight for the down-stroke. For someone much lighter than me, hand pumping might be more difficult. If i enjoyed target shooting or "plinking" and was shooting all the time, I'd get an electric pump but I'm not a hobbyist, I'm just interested in pest control. I might need to top the rifle off once or twice a month on average. I left the rifle unused and fully charged for several days with zero pressure loss. So far, after running a hundred or so pellets through it, I have nothing negative to say about this .22 caliber Marauder. Best air rifle I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few in the fifty years I've been shooting.

A standard for the market, one drawback is the weight!
Box came a little banged up. But, everything inside was ok. The positives: Accurate Well made Magazines held up so far Consistent Holds charge Negatives: It's heavy The scope rail is small and could be better for a lot of scopes. Note: It gets more accurate and more consistent as it breaks in. A few dozen to a couple hundred shots and it will suddenly start being more accurate and consistent. That being said...it out shoots a lot of .22 rifles out of the box, in accuracy under 50 yards. Try different pellets. The accuracy and groups will vary a lot between brands and types. Most accurate for me: Crossman Premium HP Rifle Predator Premium 18gr HN Match Heavy 21gr JSB Exact Jumbo heavy 18gr I would order again. This is a standard for the industry to measure by.

Everyone is right - for the money, it's great value
Agree with everyone else on here. For the money, this is a very high performance, high quality air gun. First, the only bad: the shipping container is not worthy of these contents. First shipment showed up with the stock broken clean in half just behind the trigger. I would not have believed it if I'd not seen it myself. But beyond the disappointment of having to wait 2 days for replacement, no impact on anything. Amazon and Benjamin just handled it. Setup: a. If you don't already know, this thing is accurate well out beyond 50 yards with no special effort on your part, so a relatively high power scope is needed to exercise it. I put a 3-12 42 on it and honestly could use more magnification. Medium height scope rings are probably good up to about 50mm objective. Beyond that get highs. Also, the one piece (including the offset) scope mounts are probably not going to work with the cartridge magazine setup of this gun. I tried two and could not make either of them work, though some shooters report they've figured it out. Ended up with UTG 2 piece medium height, they are working great. b. This is my first PCP and I thought long and hard about what pump to go with. After reading a lot of reviews and looking at lots of hand and electric pumps, decided the cost difference between a reliable hand pump ($150) and a low end electric ($200) was small enough to go for it. Opted for one of the 4500 psi Chinese compressors when it went on sale. Went under the brand Happybuy but is indistinguishable from the Yong Heng models. In any case, I believe that was a good decision. Takes only 45 seconds at most to move tank from 2000 to 3000 psi. Hand pumping does not sound that bad (I do not shy away from physical work), but when target shooting it's nice to focus on the shooting and the company and not on leaning on a pump for what sounds like 150 strokes per fill. Performance: a. Once zeroed, repeatedly put 10 unmatched out of the box Benjamin 27.9 gr through a 1" circle at 35 yards without really even working on stance or breath control. Routinely put 8 of 10 in same 1" circle at 50 yards. Really looking forward to seeing what it will do with good bench, matched pellets, and a little effort on my part. b. The 3000 to 2000 psi range gives about 16 shots, which is two of the little magazines so that works out ok. I have not put meter on it, but the flight height difference at 50 yards between 3000 and 2000 psi is about half an inch. More serious shooters report keeping the gun between 2600-2800 gives very repeatable performance. Again, FOR THE BUCKS, COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED. This was my affordable way to experiment with PCP shooting, and it is nice to be able to get a serious platform to experiment on for under $500. Looking forward to squirrel season as well.

Excellent gun for the money.
I'm 62 and have been target shooting high powered rifles for 40 years. I have owned several break barrel air guns including the NP2 Trail. And after reading so many reviews it was hard to make a decision on trying this gun. I called several companies including Crosman to discuss the barrel issues and was assured they had been fixed for several years now. Still I read many blogs about tuning and mods to fix accuracy problems. Most all of the blogs complaining of accuracy problems are 3 or more years old. Still I come from the world of high power firearms and target shooting and it was my goal to purchase an accurate rifle to plink and hunt with. Had to be at least equal to my NP2 Trail in power. I like my NP2 Trail, but it's hard on scopes and is a little touchy about holding when fired. Mine hates a front rest, even if the back is supported. The NP2 is very powerful, but as stated, a little finicky about shooting hold. The Marauder is not picky about hold, just like a high powered rifle except you don't have to worry about recoil, there is non. And the specs on the Marauder indicated all I wanted in an air rifle. I choose 22 because its easy to find pellets and all my other guns are of that caliber. True the 25 has almost double the power, but since hunting is not my primary use the 22 once again was the better choice for me. And 22's have been used for hunting for more than 100 years and are known in almost every country in the world.. And I would imagine that this gun in 22 would drop anything you could with a 25 caliber if you can place your shot right. Being a target shooter first, and hunter second, accuracy was a big issue for me. The marauder I received was extremely accurate for what it is. (You must note that shooting pellets of any kind is like shooting a flat nose bullet in high power because they are not very efficient in flight due to their shape) Right out of the box it placed less than 1/2 inch groups at 20 yrds all day long. This is the distance I sighted it in for to test accuracy. And this was using cheap pellets. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AU6EICA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0?th=1&psc=1 Anyone with high powered target shooting experience will appreciate the adjustable comb stock, the 2 stage target trigger, which is adjustable, and the floating barrel with a good crown finish. A fully encased barrel for sound reduction is added plus and one of the reasons I bought this gun. It is very quiet, with the target making as much noise when hit as the shot did from the gun... Some things you should know: 1st a floated barrel is a little delicate. They are not designed to be bumped or moved and I suspect that some peoples accuracy problems were from the barrel moving on them. BTW, floating a barrel is one of the first things you do to accurize a high powered rifle. So take care not to bump it into things, and if you do, make sure it is centered in the barrel ring and not touching. 2nd pumping this thing up with a hand pump is a real workout for someone my age but it is fun and like most people say, about 60 pumps will take you from 2000 psi back up to 3000 psi which is a full recharge as long as you don't go much below 2000 psi. And if you don't touch the factory adjustments for power and such, you can get 40 usable shots or more depending on what you call usable. For me and a friend, we moved out to 50 yards or so and used soda pop cans for targets, and with a good scope, it was boringly accurate. If you missed, it was because of you, not the rifle. I ran 50 shots on a single fill and it was still shooting that distance but the last 3 or 4 shots started to loose accuracy, still that's not bad for 50 yard shooting. That 50 shots took the gun from 3000 psi to 1900 psi based on the built in gauge on the rifle. A squirrel wouldn't have much of a chance at 50 yards with this gun. So if you''re looking for a fun gun, with an excellent trigger and accuracy I don't think you can beat the marauder. Handling and weight are also very good, not too heavy and the stock just fits your grip. A lot of thought has gone into this gun and its design. And honestly, I cannot think of anything I would change except to maybe support the floated barrel a little for carrying. Time will tell if that is an issue. But I am happy as a clam, all smiles.... even if it is a workout to recharge. Coming from high power target, this is a keeper for me. And I don't think you will be disappointed with it either as long as you respect the design and handle it appropriately.

Quality assurance at Benjamin is not there.
I had two Marauder BP2264S send to me. I am a totally new to PCP air rifles or any other. The manual that comes with the rifle does not tell you how to 'cock' the rifle. So I was not 'cocking' the rifle properly and could not get the pellet magazine inserted in the rifle. The 'Customer rep' in my opinion has never handled the gun in question so could not help me to 'cock' the rifle, and directed me just to return it. Amazon to their credit send me another free of charge. It acted the same, so I found a U-Tube video about the rifle and learned how to 'cock' it. However the second rifle had a pellet magazine that was defective. So I have given up on Benjamin for their extremely poor manual and the defective magazine for a gun that is over $400 to buy. There are better if not equal guns for less $$$.

Superb air rifle.
This is my first amazon review. I dont normally write them but this gun is amazing. I was struggling with the purchase of this gun but after reading the reviews I decided to make the purchase. I bought the Benjamin pump to go along with this. It wasn't too bad to pump up. (Keep in mind im 300+) So I did it with one foot on the base and one arm for most of it. It gets a lot harder as you go up but its not that bad. The gun surprised me with how big it was. Its like sized with a pump action shotgun, and seems to be very strongly built. I ordered the .22 caliber. This gun is extremely accurate, and high powered. I put 5 pellets through the same hole after sighting it in with 2 shots. It is extremely quiet, not what I expected out of a .22 caliber-3000psi discharge. Bolt action is solid and works flawlessly. The magazine clicks into place. This is not in the instructions and it took me a minute before I figured it out. To know if its slid in all the way it clicks and the left side of the gun should be flush with the magazine. Upon purchase I was curious how much the air level would go down per shot. Its not that bad. I fill to 3000 and about 25 shots later im at 2250 psi. From how long it takes to manually pump it back to 3000 your looking at about 30-40 pumps to be back to 3000 psi. I would totally recommend this gun to anyone wanting a serious gun to shoot targets or small game hunt with. Anyone on the fence as I was have nothing to fear, this gun is awesome.
