A well made, simple incense burner in a style that has become timeless.
It just would not seem like Christmas or New Years in our home if we did not burn some Paine's Fir Balsam incense each year during the holidays in either a small Paine's log cabin burner my parents had purchased probably 50 or more years ago, or else in one of several German handcrafted wood smokers I have collected over the years, all of which burn incense cones and not incense logs. This year, I was late in setting up the balsam incense burning tradition, and until I pulled out the empty box of Paine's incense cones about two weeks prior to Christmas (the box I had specifically saved from last year to remind me I needed to order more Fir Balsam incense cones before they got sold out Christmastime) I had forgotten about needing more. So, I headed to Amazon to see what they had to offer, and while the Paines fir balsam cones were sold out except for the smallest box which was more than I wanted to pay for the number of cones it came with, they did still have for sale the incense logs and this Paine log cabin "log" incense burner to purchase for not much more than the smaller boxes of cones. The incense logs that came with this log cabin burner smelled so wonderful prior to burning and so freshly made, I couldn't help but think the burner with its incense must have been made and delivered to Amazon only a few days at most prior to my purchase of it . The actual Paine's log cabin burner itself has not changed at all in style in 50 years time. Only thing different between the log cabin "cone" burner of 50 years ago and the log cabin "log" burner of 2023, (besides your choice of size) is the size and shape needed to hold your specific shape of incense is cut differently depending on the style. In all honesty, these incense log cabin burners, whatever style incense you choose, should last you a lifetime and then some. That has been our experience with the log cabin, as it is the second generation of ownership now and still going strong. While the log cabins are cute looking year round and could be used to set up a little village, they are especially cute to burn in the cold weather, when the incense smoke rises up into the air out of the chimney. I honestly can not rate these small Paine's incense burners anything less than with 5 stars, as they are timeless in style, and while simply made, the quality is good as well.

I truly love the smell of the incense provided and it’s such a cute little desk accessory!

Awesome little incense burner, but...
Awesome! I love the cabin burner and how the smoke comes out of the chimney. Even the medium sized house is pretty small and I really don't care for the included little burning logs, I think they smell terrible. Plan on buying some good smelling incense cones to use with this awesome little house, I think that will do the trick!

Great cabin, terrible incense.
I bought it for the cabin, not the incense, which is good because what it came with smelled bad. Like it was mossy or something. But I bought some other incense that I like, and that works great. So I'm pretty satisfied, the cabin is cute and whimsical, and the airflow is right for incense that isn't trash.

Love these
I grew up with one of these and got one for my sons new house. Such a nice holiday tradition. I like supporting this company as well as they have been in business for a long time and seem to really care about what they do. Excellent quality.

Incense doesn’t burn well. Holder doesn’t fit incense sticks.
Had these growing up. The cabin was cute when received however the incense sticks don’t fit the cup. They sit in to stand them up. They just fall over. I had to put an incense holder inside the cabin just to keep it standing up and then lighting them is also an issue. Growing up we just lit them and they burned almost all the way through nonstop. The ones that come with this little cabin hardly light and when they do, they constantly go out. I’ve been using incense for many years, but wanted to get that vintage scent that I remember as a kid. Very disappointing to not be able to keep them lit more than a minute or so before they go out. I would not recommend.

Hard to light and doesn't stay lit
1) I've bought a dozen of these over past years and have been 100% happy with the product until the past year or two. The most recent purchases have take a nose dive in quality. The old incense sticks were slightly conical, were easily lit, and stayed lit. The new, narrower and cylindrical sticks take several tries to light and often go out after a few minutes. I'm guessing the company was recently passed to the next generation who immediately shifted to cheaper materials to boost the bottom line. 2) Also, the cellophane tape they use to secure the lid for shipping discolors the roof. If you manage to keep them lit, they still smell great. I've been using one of these for 50 years.
