This thing is dumb annoying and fun. Sound on its own is on the quieter side, haven’t tried it plugged in. It’s cute. We love Kirby.

What a hit! I got this for my son’s 5th birthday, and he’s been obsessed ever since. Sure, it’s a little annoying, but seeing him so happy and creative makes it totally worth it! I like that it just has preprogrammed songs since he wouldn't have been able to play actual songs on his own. Definitely helped him enjoy it so much. Also, after using it nonstop for nearly 6 months it's still going strong, so this product definitely lasts!

This is very small but it's built to last! It's been dropped several times and still looks and functions like new. My child absolutely loves this small version. It has built in songs so he really enjoys making it play and it's more fun for him. The price is very worth it because of the joy it has brought him. We've had this for a little over a year and we still have not had to replace any battery because it's long lasting.

Very large and does play in three octaves. Has a port for earbuds and my brother loves it.

This is super fun but for the price, I wish it was built better. It feels really lightweight/ cheap/ fragile. It’s working well so far.

I bought the Kirby Deluxe and the Unicorn standard sizes in a bundle. I've been having a blast with mine, especially the large-sized deluxe. If you read music, get a set of music stickers and mark the note locations on the side of the neck. I used my electric keyboard to double check, after doing it by ear. I marked mine while set in the mid-tone range. The volume control is nice. I can practice without bothering the neighbors! I think that with your Otamatone, you will get back what you're willing to put into it. Pick out some easier songs and practice until you can play them well. Get the notes down first; the tone and feeling will come later on. Not all of the notes are precise; for sharps and flats, you may have to roll/slide your finger a bit. It takes practice. The good news is that there are a LOT of good Otamatone instructional videos on YouTube in a wide variety of styles and levels of difficulty. My personal favorites of the moment are: "The Squid Game" theme "When You Wish Upon A Star" "Gift of a Thistle" (from Braveheart) ...and various Disney music from songbooks. Don't expect to play it perfectly right away. Like any musical instrument, if you keep practicing you'll get there! Just have fun, and play music that you LOVE!

Super cute - got it for my niece. She loved it, plays with it all the time. The sound quality was really good, though changing pitches is in a bit of an awkward place if its wanted during the song being played. For the price, though, definitely worth it.

just the original awesome japanese toy-instrument remember to buy also batteries AAA or the power supply because the test-batteries (included) don't last very much
