I never thought I’d be this emotionally attached to a pair of long johns, but here we are. The Thermajohn Thermal Underwear Set is like a warm hug from a teddy bear who also happens to be a professional insulation expert. Seriously—this fleece-lined base layer has no business being this cozy. I put them on during a cold snap and haven’t looked back since. I’ve worn them under jeans, joggers, and even pajama pants (don’t judge me). I’d wear them to work if I could. They’re warm but not bulky, stretchy without being saggy, and soft enough to make you question every other piece of clothing you own. Also, shoutout to the waistband for staying in place and not playing “let’s roll down every 10 minutes.” These long johns understood the assignment. If you’re looking to brave the cold while feeling like a warm cinnamon roll, these are it. Buy them. Your frozen thighs will thank you.

COMFORTABLE

I can't believe what I've been missing. These thermals are fantastic and if you're a previous owner of the square pattern type thermals then you MUST upgrade. It' been quite a few years since I invested in thermal wear and then it was sport specific for mountain bike racing. I'm talking $300 a pop per garment. I'm out of that game and hope never to spend a fortune again for that heat thermal clothing. Back to the thick of the conversation which was the review. How do they size? They come true to fit. They are skin tight which is what you want. If you are complaining because they don't fit loose like your normal clothes ask one of your cool friends in the know. I will say the one thing that I noticed is that I can pull the shirt all the way down to the top of my quads, but after a few 30 minutes or so the shirt has managed to ride up to above my abdomen. Not a deal breaker. I believe proper thermal wear etiquette requires you to tuck the shirt inside the waistband of the johns. Another plus is the micro-fleece layer inside thermals, man the microfleece is absolute heaven against your skin. For the micro-fleece feeling alone I will buy 10 more - so I don't have to do laundry. As far as temperature retention, It was 35F the other day and I spent the whole day outside with minimal layers - I wanted to test the low temperature rating on the coldest day so far - and I can attest to Thermajohn's ability to keep me toasty. I know many of you are saying, "Well I live where it's' colder than 30F, or some of you my say screw you I live in places so cold it's subzero". well to all of you I say, buy the thermajohn's and make them the first cozy layer against your skin and then proceed with your cold weather ritual, or go crazy and buy lots of new winter clothing.

Amazon won't let me post pictures of the bottoms of these Thermajon reviews, so you only get pictures of the top. For reference, I am a 6'2" male weighing in at 190 lbs and a 33" waist. These thermal underwear are decent, I suppose is how I'd classify them. The stitching is meh, but for the price, I really wasn't expecting better. The material is decent, again, about what you'd expect for the price. The fleece lining is nice, but it doesn't cut the wind much... with a light outer shirt on over this, even a light chilly breeze was felt on my skin. For fleece-lined thermal underwear, I'd expect to not feel any wind bite for a light breeze. That said, they are pretty warm over-all. Will they stand up to prolonged sub-zero temperatures? No way. Do they do the job for a limited amount of time outside in freezing temperatures? Yeah, I think they will work. There are better options out there if you want something you can rely on to keep you alive in sub-zero temperatures. If you just want to shovel your driveway or move indoors/outdoors over the course of the day without freezing, these are a good option. They are comfortable to wear. The Mediums are very tight, like spandex / UnderArmor type shirt and pants. The large is snug fit. The XLs seem to fit pretty well... I normally wear medium or large, but these run small, so the XL I would classify as a large. Pants are another story... they run REALLY small, and don't really match the top. I would need a set of Large or XL pants and XL top to be comfortable, I think. If you like your thermal undergarmets to be tight, go with your normal size. If you want them a bit looser, go with at least one size up from what you'd normally wear. The XL pants are tight on me, though not uncomfortable. The XXL pants are comfortable, but a little too long... so I'll probably stick with the XL pants as well, but if you're shorter than I am, they are probably going to be a little long on you. For reference, the above pictures are sized MED - Large - XL - XXL in the pictures, so you can see how they are cut and fit on someone of my size.

I work in a warehouse that ranges from -20 degrees Fahrenheit to around 40 degrees. It’s cold in there. I’m picking ice cream and meat or produce and groceries in the freezing arctic cold. These were my savior of cold aches after my shift. My joints would be all cranky after the shift but no more. These keep me nice and warm, and honestly maybe a little too warm at times if I’ve had too much caffeine. Don’t restrict my movement at all, and they’re super low key. I should’ve bought a large though: I have a large torso but a short build. I’m 5’10” and my torso is a little bit longer than others, making my legs just a little short in comparison. The legs were also just barely not long enough for my liking but no discomfort. Overall great buy, functions well, and I will continue to use this baby to stay warm

These are surprisingly warmer than I expected after receiving them. Seem very thin and not warm at all. WRONG! Light weight of product is very deceiving. Outfit is very warm when needed and not at all bulky like some of years ago. Very pleased with product.

I bought one black pair originally. I’m 5’6 and around 150lbs. The small size fit me really well even with having a broader chest than the size chart indicated. I use these for staying a bit warmer around the house during the winter and they work well for that, I can def tell a difference. I ordered 4 more pairs so I wouldn’t have to wash them as frequently. I noticed that the black and blue fit me nicely while the white runs a tad small. They still fit but just a little snug and I’d probably order a size up in that color. Overall, these are a great buy especially when on sale. They are at the upper end of quality for this price range. I ordered some more expensive ones that work better for going outside in colder temps but ya get what ya pay for.

Size is good.. but is not warm enough… it’s basically just a fleece type

I purchased these for my son’s school camp and they lasted really well as he is really tough on his clothes. Not really suitable for freezing cold conditions but they were perfect for camping in the cooler months.
