Works well - amazing
This worked amazingly well. Went away for a week in July and it was a hot dry week - came home and all plants looked good, I was dubious about this, but it works!

Brilliant!
I was skeptical at first but this really is a game changer. It works! I used this to water my house plants for two weeks when on holiday including chillies and it kept them alive. I strongly suggest you trial it for a week or so if you intend to use it whilst away on holiday to get the rate of water transfer right.

Keeps the plants well-watered
Bought these self-watering wick cords to put into our pots, whilst we were away on holiday for a week. Weather was very warm, but a good water before we went and the addition of the wick cords; which you can cut to any length needed; to our pots/troughs from a trug, placed above the pots/plants level and secured with a stone/small piece of garden wire (used as a bracket in the pots) was all that was required. Worked a treat and would recommend it to anyone that has a lot of pots and wants inexpensive self watering device for the odd occasion. EXCELLENT!!!!

It wicks water as promised but in surprising and hard to manage ways. HARD TO USE!
It does what it says on the tin. But leave plenty of time to adjust your setup for speed, inclination, spills, and other details. It is very finicky, but the cord does what it says really well! It is incredibly hard to install and minor mistakes imply complete failure (water leaks, drowed plats, etc.) I give 3 stars because how hard it is to use, and how misleading is the information about installation.

Works perfectly while you are away.
Worked perfectly. Set up pre a 2 week holiday with a collection of plastic water bottles, not exactly confident, expecting to find a lot of dying withered plants. Instead I came back to a jungle! All survived and grown and enormous amount in the time we'd been away.

It worked! Fantastic!
Set these wicks up, in my greenhouse, with 4 cucumber plants and 6 tomato plants in the tenuous hope that it would keep them alive for the 9 days I was away. My cucumbers had just started growing baby fruits and the tomatoes typically began to ripen two days before I left. I did not hold out much hope of the plants staying alive as they drink so much and these wicks could not possibly supply the amount of water they were used to. I just hoped that the fruits would continue to ripen. I cut 24 sections of wick; two for each plant. I placed three full buckets of water; one each to serve 4 plants. I made sure the wicks touched bottom of bucket and went over the side, straight down into the soil by roots (all plants were in growbags). The wicks were only just long enough ( will buy extra packet next time ) but just sufficed. When I returned home, last night, I anxiously went down to the greenhouse to see the damage. Instead, I saw red ripe tomatoes, through the glass, even before I got inside. All the plants were alive! Two buckets recently empty and the third with about two inches of water left in. Lots of ripened tomatoes. 5 cucumbers ready to pick , with lots more on he way. Couldn't have been happier. Not sure this would have worked if I had been away any longer but for just over a week it did the job. Highly recommended. Happy customer.

I’m using this on several plants. I wanted to see if I could water from the base and have a larger reservoir. It works great. So far the two plants that I’ve used this on is thriving. So if you don’t feel like watering your plants a lot this is a great item. Just have a small smaller pot to place in a bigger pot.

Picture shown looks as if the product is of synthetic material, but the product delivered is of cotton

Will suck up water as advertised, however does not soak the cord over its entire length. It is only wet and dripping water at the tip. Will need additional wicks for each plant in the one pot.
