XtremeMac Tango Air Airplay Speaker System (Black)

This thing is legit. 99% of the speakers in this category are just weak af. This speaker puts out solid bass that you can feel, and clean clear sound... and it is not weak at all; it is nice and loud. I have had mine for years now and it still works great. i use android devices, so i cannot use the wireless feature (apple airplay), but that is ok. i have used this with my phone, my computer... i keep it connected to my android tv box most of the time now.

Terrible. Don't waste your money. Didn't even power on. Returned it for a new one. It powers on but can't keep an airplay connection for more than a couple songs.

I ended up getting this on sale at Fry's for much cheaper than it is listed at Amazon. At first, it worked great! Set up to work on my wifi was SUPER easy and took less than 30 seconds. The sound quality when playing thru wireless was decent to good overall, pretty solid for the price that you're paying. After about a week or so, the wireless signal would cut out occasionally, just a minor inconvenience. Now, it cuts out very frequently to the point that this feature is now unusable. Now, I can really only use it if I'm plugging my device into it directly, which defeats the purpose of me getting this in the first place. Also, I've noticed a small "hiss" when whatever I'm playing is quiet or in between songs. Not a deal breaker as you don't notice when something is playing. I have since exchanged it for the same product, thinking that I just had one defective product, but I had the exact same results. It worked great for about a week, then I started having the same problems. Considering I got this brand new for only $40, I guess I don't have much to complain about since I got what I paid for. This had the potential to be a great product for a great price, but it left me disappointed in the end.

Great bang for the buck! Easy networking and set up. I would highly recommend this system to anyone who wants easy, mobile music amplification.

Just picked this little guy up from Fry's for $69. Let me be the first to tell you, it sounds pretty damn impressive for a $69 5 driver system WITH AirPlay ability. The highs are a bit harsh, but still there, the mids are slightly recessed, but articulate, and the lows are deep for the size of the product. AirPlay from about 30 feet out is spot on, using a simple linksys router. 100% recommended!

This review does not address the airplay ability, but only the sound quality. I went to Fry's Electronics and listened to the speaker. I connected my iPhone to the speaker with an audio cable through its auxiliary connection. The speaker was on sale for $69 so I was inclined to want it to perform. But giving it every benefit of the doubt (e.g., it's not the same listening to them in the cavernous shopping center as a small bedroom), they just did not measure up. I could go on about the lack of sonic quality at the low end and the high and the lack of clarity, but suffice it to say that it did not come close to the (non-airplay) Bose C2 speakers for $99, which I used as a reference at Fry's the same night. So if airplay ability is the only thing that matters to you, and you don't much care what sound you get at the other end as long as you recognize the song, then you might want to wait for the review of the airplay ability. But if you have even minimal standards of the sonic quality of the music you listen to, you'll will want to move on and start looking elsewhere confident that these are not for you.

I'm NOT an Audiophile, but I found it comparable in both sound & build to most other wireless speakers, including against the Jawbones that sell for $200 & over. Very sturdily built; feels solid when picked up - NOT flimsy & "plastic-ey" like it might fall apart. To me, looks cosmetically aesthetic. Though taller > most other models I have, it's still very portable, and can be laid horizontally or stand vertically. Puts out very high volume w/o the noticeable distortion compared to many others in the same price range, $69 (SALE price) - no comparison! For better sound quality & more features - you can always spend MORE. But for a good balance of COST AND quality compared to what's out there (I have a few wireless speakers that I have in different rooms of the house, both more expensive & less so) - to me, this is a GOOD BUY!
