Owners of rambunctious cats be warned!
This fountain would be 6/5 if not for the only flaw, which is the top half of the fountain is only held on by gravity and a tiny bit of suction. What this means is a rambunctious kitten (big or small) can knock the metal cone off of the pump assembly and leave the fountain fairly unusable until it's put back. Niles went as far as to remove the cone entirely this morning! To be clear, the normal pawing that cats do at their water will not affect this fountain. As a cat owner of almost 30 years, Niles is the most inquisitive, destructive, and I'm contractually obligated to say loving, cat I've ever met. So if you have a Niles, you might need to adapt to make this fountain work for you. The pros are all great otherwise. It is truly easy to clean! The pump and filter assembly come apart with minimal effort and in a way that all the crevices can be effectively reached. The pump is very quiet, and pretty consistent through the week. We have three cats, so we have to top off the water mid-week. We clean once a week, and the water doesn't get gross by the end. The cats all acclimated to it well, but it did take about a week to two weeks of it running before we saw them all use it. We have one skittish boy who was more hessitant, so we kept their other water out for the first week, and then moved the fountain to the spot where their old water bowl was for the second, and that seemed to work well. All in all, for a household with normal cats, and for people who are both particular about cleaning and appreciate efficiency, I would highly recommend!

So far so good!
My cat LOVES this thing! I bought this specifically for when we were on a trip out of town for a week because her water bowl ends up with a layer of fur floating in it and any food she accidentally flings into the bowl while eating. When we're home we sometimes have to dump out and refill her water two times per day, but our pet sitter was only coming to care for her once per day so I figured at least a fountain would constantly be running and filtering the water so she'd constantly have clean water. We set it up the night before our flight and she was very curious and intrigued by the water and light reflections, wanted to paw at it, and it did make her want to drink water but for a few days she would check out the water fountain and then go over to her regular water bowl to drink water from that instead. After a few days, we kept catching her on our pet cams drinking from it. She drank at least a couple of times per day with her regular water bowl, but would sometimes have long bouts where she would ignore it. She has consistently been drinking much more water from the fountain than she ever did with her normal bowl. I had been planning on disassembling and storing it while we were home, but with how much she loves it and how often she drinks from it, even though we're very much lacking when it comes to an adequate amount of power outlets and space in our kitchen, we're keeping the fountain as a permanent fixture, plugged in 24/7. We've only used it for two weeks exactly at this point, so can't speak to any issues with rust, but thus far there isn't any issue with the steel. The filters work great and keep the water clean for a long time. Our pet sitter dumped and replaced the water once while we were gone and we did the same after we got back, I finally disassembled and cleaned it today, so technically we went 2 weeks between cleanings by replacing the water a couple of times, but you are supposed to take it apart and clean it every 7 days. With the stainless steel, it's easy to see when it needs to be replaced and/or cleaned. Steel is the most sanitary material for food and water so I would never consider a plastic fountain anyway. I have several other products from PetSafe that are all good quality so I felt like their fountain would be a safe bet, and so far so good, I'm pleased with it and the quality. The only thing that would make it better is if I could somehow have it be battery powered and if the footprint was even smaller since we have an NYC apartment, but this is actually one of the smaller fountains available so it's not too big. She is pretty skittish when it comes to noises, but the fountain is not loud at all. The only thing we hear is the water trickling (which is good since that helps make her want to drink the water). We can't hear the motor at all, but we do have a constant low hum from our air purifier and fridge and usually traffic and subway noise, so maybe if you live in the middle of nowhere and nothing else in your house makes noise, you might hear it faintly, I wouldn't know.

Great fountain if cleaned properly
I have very hard water and have issues with frequent mineral buildup, but if you have (or use) soft water, you might have a better experience. Fountain performance is 5-stars. It bubbles happily and quietly, and my cats are drawn to it. Very happy with the performance of this fountain. I was not so happy when the fountain seemed to have died several weeks after purchase. After some research I realized the issue: when cleaning the fountain, be aware that the face plate on the filter is removable; behind this there is another small, removable piece; and then a removable, tiny fan-shaped piece. It's critical to take all of these pieces apart and clean them individually before reassembling. I have also found that cleaning with baking soda and vinegar works very well for removing all of the deposits.

Absolutely Perfect!
This is the most perfect fountain I have found so far for my dogs. They don't care for the more shallow fountains so this one provides the depth they prefer. It is super easy to clean and functions wonderfully. It is very quiet too which we like alot.

Didn't realise seller was in the US. This product is Not UK compliable. Has a completely different plug on it. Does not fit and UK SOCKETS. Alot of money to buy and cost me nearly as much to return it. Anyone in the UK DO NOT BUY IT.

We have three cats and they absolutely love the fresh clean water from this fountain. It needs to be cleaned once a week to keep the water freshest but I am very happy to recommend this product .

Best water fountain for pets that I've bought. Incredibly quiet I've never come across a water pump that operates so quiet. That is such an important factor you would be surprised how noisy some little water pumps can be, and how it turns into an annoying sound in the background when you can hear it. The whole designed is actually quite brilliant super easy disassembly washing reassembly. Depending on your pet they can drink from the very top or the side walls of the conical or from the bowl. The fountain also seems to be relatively reasonable priced sometimes these fountains are in excess of $100. Only thing I would suggest is I'm not sure exactly how big of a dog would use this size. I don't think a dog any bigger than 20 lb 25 at the maximum could use this comfortably. But overall the absolute best water fountain for pets I've ever purchased.

I really wanted a stainless steel fountain for my pets to drink from, so I splashed out on this, and have been sorely disappointed. At first things were going well, but after less than a week, the pump died and the whole thing is useless. The fountain also initially only ships with one month's worth of filters despite the "2 filters" in the product, so do keep that in mind when you buy. Both filters are used at once. An all stainless steel fountain I bought from a Chinese OEM manufacturer has been trucking on for a year now, by contrast. I bought this internationally, so I'm not sure PetSafe will cover the warranty, but better see.
