A Rainy Day in New York [DVD]

If the American Cancel Culture is working hard to cancel an artist or a film, you should definitely watch that film and keep your eyes on that artist. Woody Allen is a contemporary legend and I did not just watch this film because it was (initially) oppressed in the USA. I placed the order as soon as it was out in Europe because I love Woody Allen's movies. "A Rainy Days in New York" is a great, timeless story with great actors playing the main roles. But even more, if you just watch the film to see another unconfusable, brilliant painting created by Allen about New York, you won. There's no other artist that knows the City so closely and so thoroughly and also knows how to present its hidden beauty so subtly and elegantly as Woody Allen does.

Not a great fan of Woody Allen - watching this because of Timothee Chalamet. - and actually the film is not bad. First third a bit woody-wacky but then the story kicks in, and it's sweet and really quite funny. Chalamet is a joy, and the cinematography excellent. A nice film for a forthcoming autumn evening -

An enjoyable movie that was better than expected. Woody Allen maybe advanced in years but he is certainly not senile and can whack out very funny one liners. Timothee Chalamet channels his inner Woody Allen particularly in the opening scenes. Its light comedy not a deep or dark or serious film and just seeks to entertain. Woody and Chalamet present a kind of dreamworld but it is a pleasant diversion. I recommend this film if you just want a laugh

Sadly foreshadowed by controversy, a very good cast excellent story . Full of things missing in most modern movies coherent dialogue, slow pace and lack MTV style filler shots more budget savings . Great addition to woodie Allen’s stellar catalogue. Which most modern directors would give there arms and legs to have a legacy like his .

Managed to watch the film in English with Polish subtitles which actually made the film more enjoyable. I don't think you can actually turn the subtitles off with this version.

This has the usual Woody Allen themes of boy has girl, loses girl , meets another girl . It has the usual Allen humour in it. Of course it isn't Manhattan or Hannah and her Sisters but it's streets ahead of anything turned out by anyone else. As usual the direction and scenes are excellent. Well worth watching

I wasn't sure about the film but a friend in New York had seen a preview and highly recommended I see it too. I loved the story, Timothee Chalamet did a marvellous job of his role and the whole production sails along splendidly to a lovely and very satisfying conclusion. I'd read Woody Allen's biography - again highly recommended and in that he identifies the works that gave the most pleasure by the mix of his players. Accordingly I've been on a bit of a journey through his films and I'm bowled over by the class of the works.

C'est la version polonaise, VO, sous-titres polonais, audio polonais. Les sous-titres ne sont pas incrustés, donc si on a un ordinateur capable de lire un blu-ray (par exemple avec makemkv), on peut regarder la VO, éventuellement rajouter des sous-titres externes.

Cute fun and romantic! The NY back grownd is AMAZING and beautiful! I recomend this movie! I loved it :-)

英語圏で非公開となった作品ですが、もともとの英語のバージョンで楽しむことができました 言語はドイツ語と英語から選ぶことができ、字幕はドイツ語だけです(もちろんsubtitleを表示しないこともできます) いろいろと批判されている作品ですし、出演した俳優の皆さんもいい思い出をお持ちでないようですが、十分楽しい作品だと思います You can watch it in both German and English. Subtitle is German only. Though this is one of the highly controversial films, it is good enough for me to watch. Have fun.

This is a well-made gentle film of Woody's set in contemporary New York lifestyles. Technically Woody is relenting more to what contemporary filmgoers have been accustomed to namely not only a movie in colour but also widescreen and more attention to the sound, which is pleasing. Woody has always displayed a sense of emerging talent in his selection in a movie of both established and upcoming actors and it is displayed here once again. Recommended.

Cute movie if you love Chalamet. Woody Allen imprint all over this one. If you like Woody Allen, you'll like this.
