Good foundation
A very comprehensive book that includes a lot of examples as well as specific numbers that will be helpful during case interviews. Obviously it will not be a one book wonder, but it does provide you with a very strong foundation

A must-have book for aspiring consultants
The book provides valuable guidance on crafting persuasive presentations and effectively communicating solutions. Whether you're a student preparing for case interviews or a professional seeking to enhance your problem-solving abilities, 'Case in Point is an indispensable resource, I will highly recommend it to anyone who wants to master the art of problem solving and make a real impact in their respective fields. I bought this book particularly for my son who is preparing for his interviews for major consulting firms. His analytical and presentation skills have drastically improved and has introduce him to the world of consulting. The mock cases in this book peered with someone else such as myself assisted my son as though it was a real interview.

The only book you’ll ever need to become a strategy consultant
As a former consultant (pre-MBA) who also explored consulting post-MBA and gotten offers from the Big 3, I believe this is the only book you need. Why? Because it takes you through the logic and assessment criteria of recruiting process, provides frameworks AND gives plenty of practice cases. Re: complaints about typos — they are unfortunate and I certainly hope they will be corrected (no excuses), but don’t let them distract you from the core value of the book. Consulting is all about structuring problems and finding (creative) answers, and that’s what the book is here to teach you.

Great book! But the print has some defects
This book is absolutely brilliant!! I couldn’t but it down after the first five minutes. The only issue was I get distracted easily and there were issues with the print. Some letters weren’t complete and some seem to be double printed making the words look bold. I’ve added some pictures for reference from just the first few pages. In terms of quality of content this is a must buy! The examples, the context, and the structure is pristine.

Good resource
This is a great resource for case interview preparation. The frame work is easy to follow and logical. I used it while preparing for a case interview and I feel more confident now.

Valuable info and worth the additional considerations
Great guide, good examples and supplemental info to what McK provides for candidates.

So. Many. Typos.
The book is fine. They went super cheap on the printing, and no proofreading at all. There are typos on nearly every page, sentences that stop in the middle without finishing, and words that autocorrect to the wrong word (like PLACES instead of PRICES). Have a little pride. You may want to look for an older edition. Here's a case for you: If you cut costs to the point that quality suffers significantly, does it affect profit?

A cornerstone of my career
I am on my 15th year of a career in Finance and Strategy Consulting. I am a graduate of the Chicago Booth School of Business and have worked for Fortune 500 firms, including a firm in the Fortune 5. I've had roles in Consulting, Corporate Strategy, FP&A, and Finance. I would not be where I am today without this book. My father (a math PhD) bought it for me in 2006 when I had no idea what kind of work I wanted to do after completing my Applied Math program. I started learning the case method from this book and with a lot of practice, got very good. I passed my first consulting interviews and got a position in a leading Economic Consulting firm. This book doesn't just teach interview prep. It teaches a mindset, and provides frameworks for solving difficult problems. Fifteen years after I bought my first copy, I still use this mindset on a daily basis to tackle tough, ambiguous problems. Today I don't work in Consulting, but I work in Finance. I believe that even if I worked in a technical, medical, or engineering role, this book would still be relevant. Framing problems in a logical way, starting from the objective, and then drawing decision tree diagrams is something that I learned from this book. I also learned how to apply these frameworks to consulting and finance, and even more importantly to business management. I have direct reports now at work, and they are not always accurate or efficient in approaching daily problems. I am having to teach them concepts from this book, and I believe it should be required reading for anyone in finance or consulting roles. One can learn financial concepts like break-even points, revenue, pricing, fixed and variable costs from a finance textbook. You may learn how to solve simple, made-up problems based on the formulas you learned. But if you are running a business, or are working in a F500 company, you will be asked "why did my profit go down in Virginia for government clients?" This is not something you can use a formula from a textbook to solve. You need the correct approach and way before you start to look at the math, you need to understand you customers and your objective and whether this is the right question to solve. They didn't teach me this in a Top 10 university, or in a top 2 business school, or in any of my classes. I learned it from Mr. Cosentino's book. And for my career, and frankly, my life, this book was priceless. I can't wait to buy the newest addition for my kids.

Well packaged but a bit dated, probably due to the publication date is two years ago. The book itself is fine.
