No, but you can purchase an optional head that uses replaceable plastic blades. I have both, but I prefer the original cord.

Would it be better to purchase the 20v battery and al300 charger to gain improved performance?

No it doesn’t come with a strap or harness. It doesn’t weigh very much so is ideal for small strimming jobs.

How long can it be operated for before battery needs recharging

about 40 mins. We bought a spare battery to have on charge while using the other one, so that we can always have a charged battery in operation.
