Hi, and thanks for your loaded question. Of course to answer your question, i would assume you are talking about manila folders. To determine how many folders the briefcase would hold, i would need to know the thickness of the folders. I would imagine four to five folders 1 inch thick. The buttons used to open the briefcase have to be pushed towards their respective sides to open. Simply push the slide button towards the handle, reset the combination, and release the button. This briefcase is similar to the one I have and this method works for me.

Does this look cheap? Feel cheap?

No,it does not look or feel cheap .In fact ,in a meeting with my attorney ,he complimented the appearance if this attaché case and was astonished at the economical price I paid for this attaché case. So far this attaché case has held up quite well over the last 8 months and “ fills the bill” for keeping the legal papers and other paper work together and readily available during my meetings with my accountants ,bankers and attorneys .
