The 2-pack whistles are as pictures. The stainless steel is smooth to the touch, no rough edges or corners felt in any of the 2 whistles. For the price I paid for the set, this is definitely 5 stars (got it on lightning deal). These are pretty to look at and light enough for my 5 year to wear around his neck, albeit I had to tie a knot to shorten the length of the lanyard for him. The lanyard is not the best quality but it functions okay. The stopper bead to control the lanyard length is near useless, hence the need to tie a knot to shorten length of the lanyard. My 5 year old loves it and blows the his whistle much today - too loud in the house so I had to take it away and remind him it's for emergency use only.

I'm a mom of three and I lost my voice for a period of time. I needed some way to get my children's attention both upstairs and downstairs (for my basement dwelling teenager who won't get out of bed for school in the am). The whistle works great! It's economical and the quality of the product is spot on. I can blow softly or blow hard and really make some noise! This would definitely be great outside as well for any type of coaching or camp where you need to gain the attention of those around you. Great product. Thanks!

My wife & I are currently leaders of a hike group that goes out every week. One of us leads, while the other tailgates to make sure that all hikers are accounted for. We purchased these whistles so we could communicate with each other without shouting. They do the trick. They are light enough to hang around our necks, and they are loud enough to be heard at the distances required. They are new, so I cannot opine on their durability, but they appear to be solid and well-made.

The whistle sound is adequate for boats that are within in view of the launch when on the water. When observing a number or boats from one launch, these would enable the coach to turn their head in the direction of the sound but not be heard if the rower is out of view. Sound over water needs to be lower pitched and louder to carry. I give these whistles rowers going out in smaller boats for the reasons above. The lanyards, you may as well plan on replacing them. The bead slides right off, the string is to narrow and cuts into your skin. Mine were a tangled mess until I went out and replaced them with standard lanyards.

I ride my bicycle a lot. And to avoid dealing with cars, and the drivers that seem to not care at all about people on bikes, I needed a better way to announce my presence. A bell in a bicycle is great for warning people that actually care. But to get the attention of people that don’t, you need something more “in your face”. So I purchased the whistle. (Pair) As well as riding on the road, ride on a paved bike path. And people on the bike path don’t seem to think they should be concerned about traffic. So when I approach, I shout out that I’m going to “pass on the left”. And if they don’t hear, then I give a blast of the whistle. It seems to really cut through the ear buds and music that joggers listen to as well. The point is safety. And the whistle is perfect. It comes with 2 little ridges that make it easy to hold between your teeth, so you are always ready. And the lanyard means it is always at the ready.

These are terrific, strong whistles on a durable lanyard. I use them when walking my dog due to coyote's that visit from the hills. You get two of them for a great price! Best whistles I've found. Neighbors have said it's also smart when walking alone, early mornings, a little added protection. I highly recommend these little beauties! Thank you!

The product came well packaged. The whistles are not very loud. I coach Special Olympics Golf on Saturdays. There is a driving range, chipping green, and putting green. The course lets us practice every Saturday for an hour. Each station gives the athletics 18 minutes. I blow the whistle once every 18 minutes to let the people on the chipping area to pick up the balls. 2 minutes later, I blow the whistle twice so everyone can move at the same time to alternate practice areas. This has been working for years until I lost or misplaced the whistle. Unfortunately this whistle does not have the range to be heard over all 3 practice areas, about 400'.; short range around 200' it/they work fine. This is not a complaint just the reality of the range.

I had one of these whistles and loved it, but my wife took it to use to correct the dogs when they disobey (It works! They hate the shrill sound.) I missed mine, so I ordered a pair. They came with lanyards, which was perfect. My wife could wear one, rather than dig through her fanny pack. And now I have one for me again. More importantly, the whistle can (and should) be used as a protective device for ladies. It is very loud, very shrill, and can be heard for quite a distance. Recommend? Darn right!
