Philips Audio clock radio AJ2000/05 clock radio (FM digital tuner, built-in alarm, 2 alarms, sleep timer, mirror-finish display) white/silver

Sleek looking clock, easy to read, sound quality is good. Could only pick up a few FM stations but both popular and classical music so that is fine. Worked out how to set functions easily enough and pleased with the overall look and functionality.

Bought it an year ago as a birthday gift for my 10 year old son. They are brilliant quality but I must say they are not easy use, instructions are not straightforward. And they are very pricy but they are the only one in the market. So didn't have any choice and Philips enjoying this monopoly opportunity.

Aesthetically lovely, great screen, lighting on numbers easily adjusted, sound quality decent, good buzzer tone and perfect for my requirements.The only thing I would say I think needs improvement is the instruction manual. Literally the smallest wording and so brief, you have to set up via pictures which may as well be hieroglyphics! Once figured out though, you'll be set.

It’s made to wake you up gradually so goes louder as it goes. Brightness can be altered looks good on bedside cabinet

This product was in my house for 20 minutes before I was packaging it back up and sending it back. I decided to try it out downstairs before taking it to my bedroom. The instructions are not set out with ease of use in mind and the way time/alarm etc. are set are far from the most obvious way but with a little perseverance I managed to figure out how to set the time and the alarm. I set the alarm to go off in 2 minutes and sat down to wait about 2.5 metres away. Two minutes passed. Then 3 minutes. I went to the alarm to see what I had done wrong only to find out I had done nothing wrong – alarm had been going off for over a minute but so quietly I could not hear it. There’s nothing wrong with my hearing but this alarm was quieter than the sound of my neighbour mowing the lawn two houses away and through closed doors window. I tried to find a way to adjust the volume only to read in the instructions that the volume cannot be adjusted but slowly increases in volume so that it wakes you gently. My wife came in at that point and I asked to listen and she replied “what to?” She also has no hearing problems but could not hear it over ambient noise of our house after 4 minutes of the alarm going off. What kind of alarm is incapable of alarming you enough to wake you up? And is not able to be adjusted? An alarm clock designed by committee without bothering to think about what it is trying to do rather than snowflake ideas of how to “improve the user experience”.

This Radio Alarm look superb in its place and the quality is quite alarmingly good.
