Good product
Been using them since they came on the market for camping. Great and works. I extended them with tubing so not to get down so far with my senior age now a days.

These are the BEST filters to have
I wish I had pictures for when I went camping in MN. These are the BEST filters to have. Buy the gravity bag too. You wont regret it. The water in Minnesota is almost black from the tannins (rotting leaves). Filtering the water is harsh on filters but having a steady supply of water on hand is nice when cooking and cleaning. Having these filters on hand means you can constantly have a clean source of water. The filter compound filters all particles and micro bacteria except for viruses. Not unless your in an area with a commonly known contaminated water source I would not use these. The flow of water can be a little slow but 1Cup of water is approximately given within 1 minute. Tip: When using the filter with the gravity fed bag. The lowest point of flow is the strongest but keep in mind DO NOT leave the filter dangling below the bag when not using or the water will continually flow and drain even with the cap on. When not using place the filter above the bag and hook in between the bag straps.

Works ... but some nuances
Use the Waterdrop Filter Straw while on a backcountry hike in the Smokey Mountains and it works pretty well! There are couple of annoying issues, first using it as a gravity filter from source container to another doesn't really work. In the picture I had to squeeze the water source bottle in order for it to filter through. When bottles like this I had to make sure the collection bottle was squeezed in to remove as much as air as possible to get water to filter through. Once air and water had passed through I would again have to squeeze and remove air to get more water to pass through. Maybe adding vent hole to collection bottle somehow would eliminate this air pressure issue. Secondly, if you're using bottles like this it's a good idea to remove the remaining plastic ring that remains after taking the cap off. Found this little ring prevented from creating a tight seal and water would leak on the supply side. Using the filter straw as a straw worked great whether attached to bottle or directly in stream. For drinking directly from stream would be nice to have a bit of tubing to stick into water source without having to bend over, especially when you're wearing a heavy backpack.

Better flow rate than LifeStraw
As a long time LifeStraw user I have to come to terms that this Waterdrop Straw Filter is faster, and cheaper than the LifeStraw. As compared to the flow rate, this thing blows the LifeStraw away. I find the material quality to be just as good as the LifeStraw, and at a lower cost. When it comes to straw filters, I stopped buying everything else and only buy Waterdrop - at this time anyway.

Big straws
Really big straws I thought they be small but there not . There very thick straws I was not expecting that but they do in emergency .

OK for at home emergency filtration, but not so much for backpacking…
If you are looking for a home emergency kit filter or for a road trip then it’s probably OK. They do the job done, but are quite big and on the heavier side compared to other competitors. If you are looking for universal filter which is small and light enough also for backpacking trips then you can get better ones than this. I was very happy with the LifeStraw Peak Series – Solo Personal Water Filter during my 7 days backpacking hike in Yosemite - small and light…
