DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Wet-Dry Vacuum, Tool Only (DCV580H)

So you have just brought this excellent vac and notice that it does not come with a battery or you already knew that. On the vacuum box it mentions that is is uses their 20V Max batteries, so you order one if you did not already have one. Stop. There is no difference between the 20V Max and the 18V XR, they are both the same batteries labelled up for different markets. That is the only difference between them, this is confirmed by doing an AI search or for a full understanding of why the difference do a search for Dewalt 20v max vs 18v xr. The vacuum is well built, really portable, easy to use and removing dust from it and cleaning it is really easy. The suction is almost as good has my mains power vacuum in fact I have now gotten rid of it and use this one all the time. The performance is long enough for me to clean my room and car without having to go and re-charge.

Very good hover also picks up water from cisterns, heavier battery makes no difference to the performance, just makes it last longer, very easy to clean

Great vacuum

Absolutely disappointed!!! Only had since February and already stopped working! Doesn't seem to be easy to contact dewalt through here to request a repair either.

I was disappointed that the hose is only designed for the 3 vacuum attachments supplied. It has a smaller hose that is not compatible with DeWalt power tools or attachments for the industrial Vacuum that I have. Not intended to replace my industrial vacuum, but to complement it whilst doing smaller DIY style job like using dust extraction whilst using a drill for a small job like drilling a hole for the insertion of a few wall plugs. Or indeed a longer piece of DeWalt hose.... I have however made attachment alterations to make it work, but adapters etc. with the brand name "DeWalt" are ridiculously expensive for what essentially are bits of plastic / nylon etc.

I wouldn't recommend this IF you don't already have dewalt tools and batteries. That being said, if you already have even the smallest of batteries, I was able to vacuum my F150 crew cab 3 times on one charge of a regular drill battery. The suction isn't as good as a 120V shop vac, but for the price you cant go wrong at all! It is definitely sufficient for day to day use, be it at home or on the job site. I use this a lot for work, as I install attic insulation. When doing retrofits in lived in houses, this thing is great for sucking up excess messes around the hatch and I have yet to fill it with dirt. The wide mouth attachment doesn't like to stay attached to the vacuum, but aside from that it still works really well. Super lightweight and doesnt take up a lot of space. It is a tad loud, but for crying out loud-its a shop vac. For the price as well, you cannot go wrong! This is especially handy for around the house stuff- I had to drill a hole in my floor for running a cable through, and just used my drill while having this run and it worked like a charm.
