Amazing!!!!
I was diagnosed with a severe bladder prolapse, and my urogynocologist suggested I try a pessary first, before considering surgery, because I have an otherwise healthy bladder. The pessary has been working perfectly, however, I was unable to remove it myself for cleaning. After doing some research, I found this pessary assistant, and ordered it right away. It works perfectly!!!! The video is so helpful, and I was able to remove and reinsert the pessary easily!! Thank you so much for this invaluable tool!!!

Easy peasy! Great tool!
The first time I removed my pessary it took me 45 minutes, even after reading several sets of instructions online . After that bad experience I ordered this Pessary Assistant, it was delivered quickly. I was hesitant to try it, afraid my attempts would be like the last time. I followed the instructions that came with the tool and I was able to remove pessary in 6 MINUTES!!! I am very happy to have this tool. I highly recommend it.

meh
I'm not sure who benefits from this thing. I honestly was not able to place my pessary with it as it popped out and INTO THE TOILET before I could insert. I did not try using the hook to remove because I find it easy enough to valsalva and push it to a point I can hook it with a finger.

Give it a fair chance!
The device definitely works! The people who say otherwise in their reviews just didnโt really try to use the device to its full potential. It works great for insertion because it holds the ring pessary (in the center) folded then you just push pessary in from there. That really helps with the frustration of the ring coming unfolded. For removal it works too, but I find it works best if you guide it in with a finger to the pessary hole. This is still much easier than retrieving pessary without assistance especially for people with dexterity issues that would make using both fingers for retrieval difficult. When done in this way it works, but I have not had luck getting it to go to the right location without guiding the tool to the location you need to hook. You cannot just stick it up there blindly like you may initially envision which is where some of the negative reviews may come from. That is not to say it doesnโt make removal more easy. Just have to be cautious to break suction before pulling. It was a genius invention. Helps me a lot. There is a learning curve initially grasping how to use.

Needs improvement
I don't have a problem inserting my pessary but have a hard time getting it out. I have to use Estradiol vaginal cream which I get into my vagina via a small plunger. I think the plunger is pushing my pessary way up inside me even though I try to avoid hitting the pessary. I can touch the edge of the pessary with the tip of my finger but I can't reach the holes or even grasp the rim to pull it out. I only succeed in pushing the pessary further behind my pelvic bone. I had previously tried using a large crochet needle which didn't quite do the job as the handle wasn't long enough. Bought this pessary tool because the handle was longer and it was designed by a doctor. I think the pessary tool needs to be even longer, maybe 12 inches or so and the hook being slightly more open with a little less curve. With much effort, I can get this tool to hook the edge of the pessary to pull it down where I can grab the pessary with my fingers. Have a friend who told me she has to lie down on her bed to get the pessary in/out. I tried that and it seemed to help. When I was young and first married, I used a diaphragm for birth control and the tool for insertion and removal was about 12 inches long and it worked well. I wish I still had that tool cause I think it would work well with a pessary. You have to have a prescription for a diaphragm so I can't just buy the tool. I'm 68 years old.

I love it.
i thought that it was expensive for what it was. I delayed buying it. Boy was I ever wrong! It is well worth it. I have long fingers and I still could not reach it and needed help to remove it. This is so wonderful. I can easily remove it without any trouble. The other end I still have problems with it and find it easier to p;ace it back without it. But all in all I would recommend it. It makes life so much easier.

Doesn't work any better than none
The design of this tool mimics the human hand's ability while adding some reach, but it doesn't make the process easier or less frustrating. With how springy and slippery the situation is, a tube with a plunger to contain the pessary would function better and allow better positioning. Think tampon approach.
