Beautiful Book
I love Lana's poetry and this collection is formatted like an art piece. It's beautiful to hold, look at, and thumb through. I really appreciate how she shows some of her working and proofreading process to get from a rough draft to a finished product. The poems included in this collection are some really beautiful pieces. I love to just flip to a random page and look at the picture on it or read the poem included whenever I have a moment to dedicate. If you're a Lana Del Rey fan or even just a contemporary poetry fan, I would recommend this book. The messages are very heartfelt and remind me a lot of her most recent album rather than her 2010s pop.

Can poetry be a Masterpiece?
I purchased this years ago and forgot to write a review. I often reread this to feel something or when I’m feeling too much. It’s like talking to a friend who is a twin flame who finally gets you bc they also have scattered thoughts and random rants and 10 side stories before they get to the point all while questioning life and identity and second guessing everything and nothing all at once and sifting between deep worry and detachment. This poetry book is proof that Lana is a writer before anything else and proves why her lyrics resonate. I’ll never get over it. Nowadays I let the audio version play on YouTube bc it’s such a comfort. “SportCruiser” is my ultimate favorite, brings me to tears. Followed closely by Salamander, My Bedroom is a Sacred Place Now, and LA Who Am I..

A Poetic Journey Through Lana's Soul
Lana Del Rey's "Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass" is a captivating collection that beautifully captures her unique voice and artistic vision. As I immersed myself in her poetry, I was struck by the vivid imagery and raw emotion that thread through each piece. Del Rey's ability to weave personal experiences with broader themes of love, loss, and the complexities of life creates a powerful resonance that lingers long after reading. The inclusion of her typewritten manuscript pages and original photography adds an intimate touch, allowing readers to connect with her creative process on a deeper level. Listening to the spoken word audiobook, accompanied by Jack Antonoff's evocative music, elevated the experience further, making her words almost come alive. This collection solidifies Lana as not only a musical icon but a profound writer of her generation. "Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass" is a must-have for fans and poetry lovers alike, offering a stunning glimpse into the heart and mind of an extraordinary artist. Highly recommended!

There's a section in the back to write your own poetry, thoughts or whatever!
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas this year, and I'm so excited to give it to her! This book is really cool. I wouldn't expect anything less from ol' Lana! The text is cool, because it looks like it was typed up on an old typewriter. There's also cool pics throughout the book. Towards the back of the book, there's a small section where on one page is a cool pic. On the page next to it is a blank page with lines. I'm assuming so you can write your own poetry or whatever. That's pretty cool I think. My only complaint is there's a scratch on the cover. But that's not Lana's fault!

A powerful lense
As a poetry author myself, I love reading poetry and never knew Lana on top of being a remarkable musician was also a poet. This book felt like it was written for her, and some things in this book will always only be intimately for her, but that is the full beauty in it because she writes it in such a way that is so introspective and daunting. Lana also brings such a sense of familiarity to the world in the sense of struggle, hardship, and showing the deeper raw emotions that make us human. I also loved the collages of pictures mixed in with her writing as it portrays such a full story and the print idea was so unique. It's clear that Lana views life as a vessel for art to effortlessly flow out of, not just in her music, but in her writing, in her photography, and I'm sure in many other forms as well. This was such a beautiful mix of collaborative art forms. And that is what life is all about, is being loud about your art. Congrats Lana 👏

Immersing oneself in the ethereal pages of this delicate poetry collection is akin to dancing on a moonbeam, each verse a gentle caress to the soul. With words as soft as the whisper of a breeze, the poet paints landscapes of emotion, weaving intricate tapestries of longing, love, and the quiet beauty found in everyday moments. Each poem is a delicate bloom, unfurling its petals to reveal the fragility and strength of the human heart. It's a symphony of elegance, where each stanza is a graceful pirouette through the realms of imagination and introspection. This book is a sanctuary for those who seek solace in the exquisite simplicity of language, a sanctuary where one can lose oneself in the tender embrace of verse.

This book is so amazing, it feels like nostalgia and longing bundled into a poetry book. I absolutely adore the cover, it just makes me so happy to look at and is super soft to the touch. The print is not only on the dust cover, but the actual book as well! Lana's writing is incredible, and she really doesn't get enough credit for her music or writing. I would recommend this book to people getting into poetry and also those seasoned with it. The books includes page long poems to small haikus that are all equally as good. inspired me to write some of my own poetry, which is saying something since that's not something i often do. Would recommend!!
