Recommend getting the SSD 2242 rather than the 2230 for this adapter
Works well with a1708 MacBook Pro running Ventura. No issues with compatibility, sleep/wake, or fans so far. If you buy the SSD 2230, make sure you put the stand-off insert on the other side of the adapter to screw your SSD into.

Perfect for upgrading my niece’s 2017 MacBook Pro 13 inch (non-Touch Bar) from 128gb to 512gb. I used this Samsung SSD from Amazon for only $49.00 It was a simple installation. I had my doubts about buying this item. This review is a year later since I bought it. It is working great I didn't had any issues installing it. Now my 2017 Macbook Pro has a 1TB ssd drive and it is running smooth. I had not experienced any issues after installation.

Product Works As Intended.
I am writing this product to ensure that if you are looking for an adapter for a Sabrent 512GB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2242 DRAM-Less Low Power Internal High Performance SSD, this product works very well for a A1708 Mac Book pro. I can not speak for any other computer. I am writing this product as a thank you to those who posted their reviews to guide me in the right direction. You're welcome!

did not work
This adapter did not work on a MacBook pro 13" A1708 2017 (no touchbar), the new ssd (Sabrend Rocket NVMe 1TB) was never recognized... Unfortunately we tried to set things up after the return delay. I do not recommend this product.

If you shipping it in South Africa I suggest you pay for faster shipping. Got it for my A1708 MacBook Pro,works perfectly well
