Does this battery have the auto shut off while charging so it does not get over charged?

No battery , to my knowledge , has a built in circuit that slow / stops the charging. Any standard charger slows to a trickle , and will stop at a preset voltage. Your cell phone is a classic example, when it gets to a full charge , the charging circuit limits the current or stopes it till it needs more. Also , if possible , put a battery maintainer on it if it is exposed to cold weather conditions. Thanks , Alan

Can I use this In a ride on toy?

From what I know this battery will power anything that requires 12 volt DC. But your need to be careful about a number of things. The terminals have to be matched to your toy's connectors. The re-charging system for the battery needs to be compatible with this battery. Any trickle charge (slow) should work. Finally this battery has only 8AmpHours capacity, that might not last very long depending on how many amps it takes to run the toy. If the toys requires 8 amps to run it, the battery will last a little less than 1 hour before needing a recharge. Hope that helps.
