Best Product / THE ABSOLUTE BEST
Writing a review after ~10 years. Bought this product in Dec 2016. As an Indian mom, we used this extensively and I can say easily 3 times a week at a bare minimum. So easily 1500 times now and we have had absolutely no issues. I'm almost inclined to say they are losing business for making such excellent products :) that lasts so long .. But it is just great. Fits perfectly on any counter top and doesn't vibrate a lot ( nothing unusual for a Mixer). I'd 100% recommend this product to anyone and especially Indian folks out there. I don't know how the product quality is now as this is after 10 years but hoping if they would maintain even 70% quality I'd still recommend it.

Works better than any other food processor I have...
...and believe me, I have a lot of appliances! I got this one as my mother was visiting and required a food processor that would perform as well as the Indian mixers she is used to back in Mumbai. She tried using my Ninja, Braun food processor and Magic Bullet and was never really satisfied. So we got this one! It is truly a remarkable little mixer. Doesn't take up too much space on the kitchen counter, has good suction cups at the bottom of the motor which fix it to the counter while you are using the mixer, grinds everything to the consistency we need and is easy to clean up. I don't put it in the dish washer as I don't want to take a chance with the rubber tubing around the lid. Also we pulse the food in the mixer before starting to grind it (just as the instructions say). So far both my mom and I love this one more than any other appliance in our home. We have made dosa batter, dosa podi, masala powders, chutneys and many many other recipes in this grinder. It is used daily in our home! I also purchased the square trade protection plan for this as I wanted to err on the side of caution after reading some of the bad reviews! But since I was purchasing it from Amazon, I wasn't as worried about the first 30 days of use. We really put the grinder to the test during those 30 days and it has always come out on top! Very happy with this purchase and I wish I had bought it before spending money on all those other appliances!!

I just got this machine a few days back and I have used both the jars. It works fantastic. My idlis turned great and the chutney was good too. I am not sure about the complains from others but the four times I have used it seems fine to me. I got the package on time and the equipment is pretty nice. Looks sturdy so far. Update: I have been using the machine for some time now and it still works great. I noticed two issues though. 1. It is clumsy to clean. I have stuff that sticks to the inside of the gasket and I feel like i will damage it everytime i get it out to clean up. 2. The lid if not closed properly or if the machine is slightly overloaded, it splashes. I have had to clean my walls two three times while trying to do things in hurry. An update to include: At bottom of the machine there is a small red GFI like knob. Very cool. If you work the machine too hard, it stops working! Update: The white part in the bottom smoked and blew off. I was worried that my machine now is useless. Checked a little and lo, the replacement part was easy to order and the powerhorse is back to work. The lid is now not so tight and i need to hold it while blending to prevent stuff leaking but the machine works fine. I have a heavy use of the machine and I have no hesitation in recommending this one!

Perfect for Indian cooking
Iโm writing this review after a month of use, especially for Indian cooking. Warning: Itโs a long review. I researched a lot before buying a mixer grinder and I concluded that Vitamix would be a good fit but I decided to not buy it just because it didnโt seem reasonable to splurge that much on a mixer. So I decided to go ahead with the next reasonable choice (based on thousands of reviews and videos) : Ninja. I was pretty excited for it and had soaked some urad dal in anticipation too. Believe me when I say that it did not go well. I ended up returning it after using it once. Reasons to return it: Plastic body (felt too weak and scratch prone) Height of the pot: it was too high and kept touching the cabinets above my platform while taking it out of the base. Poor performance: after spending over an hour grinding one cup of soaked dal, the result was disappointing. I finally went ahead and bought my third option of the lot: Preethi Eco twin jar. In my opinion the two jar option is quite self-sufficient and I didnโt have enough space to keep a third one :p. Reasons to buy Preethi eco twin jar mixer and grinder: Metal body: feels sturdy and is low maintenance compared to a plastic body Sharp blades: I have tried grinding almost everything in this (coconut, dals, frozen berries etc) and the end results were always โfineโ. The extra lids provided are pretty useful when you want to convert the big jar into a medium. Instead of the original dome shaped lid, the spare lid goes into the body of the jar transforming it into a medium sized one. I had read a few reviews that it makes a lot of noise but which mixer doesnโt (I found the other brands louder than this one). Overall performance has been beyond my expectations. The only extra step I would suggest to prolong its life is to take the blade off after every use while cleaning it. The overall body is smooth and easy to clean without too many crevices or ridges. Would definitely recommend it!

LOW QUALITY
I usually do not take an effort to write reviews, I am writing review for this product to caution prospective buyers. It is a very low quality, within 3 months small jar got jammed I managed with bigger jar for some time, now both jars are jammed and I tried fixing them looking at videos on YouTube but they still do not work. I am ditching this product as it is not worth my time, such a waste of money!

An efficient and convenient mixer grinder finally!!
Here are the mixers and grinders I bought and the experiences I had with them, -Panasonic mixer from India (got it converted from 230V to 110V) - Cannot take more load. Takes around 2hr to make batter. Broke within 6 months. Converted mixer is a very bad choice. -Magic bullet - Good, but not for Indian kitchen. Need atleast 550 watt-power mixer with proper blades for Indian kitchen. -Ultra stone grinder - Excellent to make dosa and idli batter. It takes around 1hr to make batter. But its heavy, takes lot of space and hard to clean. Then, I started looking for a company-made 110V(not the converted), 550 watt-power or more mixer grinder which is easy to handle and clean as well. Well, finally I found Preethi Eco Twin Mixer Grinder. I got it from Great Elect. They delivered it within a week in a good shape. It has a warranty of one year. Parts and features are, - Basic unit has the motor. - There are two jars - 1.5 litre and 0.5 litre. Each jar has a flexi lid and dome lid. Flexi lids convert 1.5 litre jar into 1 litre jar and 0.5 jar into 0.3 litre. - 1.5 litre jar has three blades - Dry/Wet grinding blade, Mincer blade, Whipper blade. 0.5 litre jar has fixed multi purpose blade. - A stirrer - An overload protection switch beneath the basic unit, which is used to restart the mixer when it is overloaded and stops. I have been using this mixer from past 2 months on a daily basis. So far so good. Doesn't take much space on the counter and not that heavy too. Mixer is very efficient and powerful. I make batter in bigger jar with Dry/Wet grinding blade. It takes hardly 10 min. I usually put 2 cups of soaked rice at a time. Also, its very easy to clean. I use smaller jar to make chutneys, dry powders, chilli paste etc. Even a small quantity of ingrediants can be made into a paste/powder without water. I am happy with this buy. Also, I recommend it. UPDATE: Its been over a year with Preethi mixer and still fit and running good. I use mixer atleast twice a week to grind some kind batter or chutneys or dry powders. The mixer has never stopped due to overload and the maximum load I put is 3/4 th bigger jar. But some issues, - Its noisy (Noise has not increased though, just I am mentioning it now) - Flexi lids are dangerous when making puree. The liquid spurts out around the lid . Dome lids are better - There was rust formation near blade in smaller jar. It should be kept dry. The easy way to do it is, always keep jars inverted after wash. No need to tap dry also and this prevents it from rusting.

Excellent Grinder.....But did have it own issues
Gets the job done in Indian way i.e. very fine grinding. Except for the cheap plastic covers for the jars, everything looks solid. Till now there are no cracks or breakages but have to be careful with the covers. I would definitely recommend this grinder. One can use this grinder to prepare for any type of dishes from all corners of India. Update as on 01/01/2015 This grinder started givings problems. It used to not start. Finally after sometime I located the fault as it was due to loose brush which used to not get connected to the rotor. I finally repaired it myself. Till date running fine as 02/09/2016. Will updated. So it loses 2 stars

So far so good
I bought this for my Mom after watching a video review on Amazon USA that clearly demos its noise level. So, no surprises when she used it - wow, it's loud! :-) Sounds just like a heavy-duty drill or table saw in action. Other than this, it works exactly as promised to easily create any soaked lentil/ rice batters, chutneys, spice powders, milkshakes and pretty much anything that needs a fine paste/ grind. I found the 2 flexi lids that instantly convert both jars into smaller sizes to be a far more practical feature than buying the model with 3 diff. jars (Preethi Eco Plus) as it takes less space to store. Approx. dimensions: 7" W x 11" L x 14" H with chutney jar & lid and 18" H with 1.5L jar & lid. Has a total of 4 blades - 3 steel & 1 plastic. One steel blade's fixed in the chutney jar and can't be removed. The other 2 steel ones are for dry-wet grind and mince-grate plus a plastic whip-blend one; all interchangeable for the 1.5L jar. Even though it's lightweight, those handy suction feet do keep it securely in place. My Mom has used it almost daily for the past 45 days with no complaints. Quality of construction is decent and nothing looks like it will fall apart too easily. Also, the enclosed DVD will help any newbie learn how to use the classic Indian "mixie"! FYI - This product's video on Preethi's YouTube channel is very helpful plus you can check videos for their other models to compare....made it easy to decide.

Good Indian grinder
Good Indian grinder at this price. Multiple jars are very handy. Wish it could come with one more small jar.

Decent mixer, bit lighter on the weight and jar thickness
Have been using this mixer for few weeks to make wet (dosa batter, coconut chutney) and dry (to make nuts, grains and dry fruit protien balls). Seems to go a decent job so far. Found it a bit on the lighter side for both the motor and jars, which may need delicate handling, cleaning etc. Some folks might consider the light weight as a pro, but time will tell. Also due to the smaller motor, I find it getting hottor when run with larger load (more than half jar full) or longer periods (4 to 5 minutes) runs. Also the screws used to attach the handle as well as the bottom of the jar has rounded heads, which makes it harder to scrape the food off the jar as well as while cleaning. Wish they have used flat head screws instead.

Good for occasional heavy usage
Good and still working.

Crude (Mechanical) Design, But Does The Job Well
As someone mentioned here, it is pretty crude and noisy when compared to North American products. Much of it can be attributed to the design of the gear that turns the blade. Instead of locking on to the matching groves of the gear on the jar, this one merely pushes it. This causes a rattling/stuttering sound when you start and stop the mixer-grinder. The design is very primitive in my opinion. But, that said it does the job perfectly. The blades are perfectly designed for grinding and milling grain. Works superbly for Idly/Dosa batter and Chutneys; in-short best thing for Indian cooking.
