Excellent magnetism and durability, classroom tested for 5+ years
Shapemags stabilizer baseplates are awesome. I bought two of these for Pre-K way back in January of 2018. It is now 2023 and these are going strong. These baseplates are out on the shelf from the first day of Pre-K in the fall to the last day of school. They have been dropped, stomped on and abused for years. I will say, one corner on one cracked on one side from being dropped on the tile floor but never broke and it is still going strong. These are hugely popular and come out for play almost every day. They are used for a variety of creations and when stuck face to face for storing on the shelf the magnetic pull is so strong I have to slide them to get them apart. My rule of thumb is that students are only allowed to build as high as they are tall so the crashes aren't huge at clean up time and no one gets hurt when it falls. Well, yesterday I was busy for a few minutes and a team of builders made this colossal structure. I'm sure it would have gotten much taller if allowed. These baseplates are fully compatible with all standard sized magnetic tiles. Baseplates are a must have for serious builders. These have been tested in the Pre-K classroom for 5+ years and get an A+ in my book. Highly recommended.

Works Great with Magnatiles, but not Magformers!
Works great with our Magnatiles! This helped my kids make really huge towers without using too many of their tiles. It was kind of pricey, but if you think about it, it has A LOT of magnets in there and they are VERY strong magnets. It works very well and was worth the cost. I would rather spend more on an item that works well, than less and get a poor quality item. If you are looking for a good quality addition to your collection of Magnatiles, this is it. I did try it with our Magformers and it did not work well. It's perfect for Magnatiles though!

Great addition to a brilliantly designed toy
Great toys, from 3y to 10y+. I enjoy playing with it! We have basic set, 100pc expansion set with extra building pieces, and now this because the projects keep getting bigger!!!!! Indestructible unless pounded with a hammer multiple times (saw one in the street that had been run over multiple times -- brought it home to find out if it worked and it did!). Significant $ investment, like legos or any other building material toy, but so sturdy it's easy to hand over to another family --- if the child will every let go of it.

Great stabilizer piece
This is a great addition to the magnetic tiles and the other shape mags I have bought through Amazon. It is one piece but it's huge! You get a 16x16 square that can be used as the bottom of anything the kids build to hold the pieces in place. It's not necessary as the pieces stay in place if you build them right, but it's a nice addition and keeps things a little steadier. Especially if you were building more elaborate or taller structures or wanted to make a town or city with skyscrapers like my 3 year old. It does work well with magna-tile brand pieces. It seems as though it will hold up well and it's been knocked around a few times by my boys and it is still in great condition. These magnetic tiles sets and pieces are awesome and keep my kids (ages 3-9) busy for hours.

Great to use to practice spelling words with alphabet magnetic tiles!
This is such a great addition to the magnetic tile sets we have. I have a few different brands of magnetic tiles, and all of them stick to this stabilizer board. This building plate allows my kids to build more elaborate creations as it holds the structure more steady. We have a set of magnetic tiles that have letters that go inside, so I have had my kids arrange those on the board to practice simple first grade spelling words. What I love about it, is that all of the magnetic tiles stick to it, so that I can keep them all in one place when it is time to clean up. Overall, it is a fun toy that also can be used for learning spelling word or engineering.

Very useful piece that works well with all tile brands
This is a great piece and has really expanded what my kids can do with their tiles. It works interchangeably with all different brands of magnetic tiles, including the expensive brand name ones. My only complaint is that this particular piece got extremely scratched up wry quickly on our hardwood floor. Fortunately the floor looks fine and the damage to the tile is just cosmetic.

great addition to magnetic tiles
I purchased three of these stabilizer plates after reading reviews on the Stick-n-Stack sets and other magnetic tiles. None of the leading products have particularly strong magnets so creativity is somewhat squelched. The stabilizer plates have allowed my kids to build larger and more complex structures and has added to the value of our tile sets. I would recommend this plate but I wish it weren't so expensive. I bought three (which was pretty costly) but I would love to have several more. Pros: 1. 128 magnets. the magnets in the middle are doubled-up which really adds to stability 2. Large size. Serves as a great base for most any project (but we typically use them as floors to build taller structures) Cons: 1. Price. 2. Although ours were packaged well and were in perfect condition when they arrived, It seems that the plastic is fairly rigid and could break if stepped on or dropped onto a hard surface.

Better than playmags.
I prefer this one over playmags. It is perfectly straight and has that extra 1/4 inch around the edges that is missing on the playmags plate. I can't tell the difference in magnet strength. The picture shows this one on top and Playmags on the bottom (with missing magnet after only a couple of months of light use). I highly recommend buying a set with more stabilizer or other bigger plates because they serve as floors for taller structures. We now have 4 plates like this one and i am already thinking of getting more: we build tall garages.

I gave the stabilizer to my granddaughter for her 3rd birthday. It was a huge hit! Now Madeleine is enjoying building bigger and more complex structures with her Magna tiles.
