I will be replacing a sram 11-36 11 speed cassette. will this need a spacer or will it simply replace my 36t cassette?

I’m assuming you are installing the NX cassette of a road bike hub if you are replacing an 11 speed 11-36 cassette. If this is the case you will need a spacer behind the cassette as Shimano spline mountain hubs are all 10 speed. The NX is designed for 10 mountain hubs but should work fine on an 11 speed hub with a spacer.

the 11-42t is listed as NX but is it still compatible with a Rival 1 group set?

Yes, this will work with a Rival 1 group. You'll just need to have the long cage rear derailleur to run the 42T cassette.

Do you have 11-42 in black color?

Does your bike need boost spacing to fit the cassette

I have Stand regular 700c wheels and this cassette fit without any issues.
