I bought this kit to repair stitching on my leather loveseat. I needed to stitch four layers of leather back together. This kit performed superbly. The wax thread is strong and comes in a self-sealing wrapper to keep the wax from coming off while in storage. It has a good assortment of straight and curved needles, awls (for marking and punching leather), scissors, a tape measure, finger-cots and a thimble. The only negatives I found in this kit were the finger-cots and thimble were too small for my fingers (I usually wear an XL glove). Other than that, this set was well worth the cost over paying someone to repair my furniture.

For $9 this kit is pretty cool. All kinds of things you need to repair leather and it’s pretty thorough. Everything you need in one kit.

This kit is useful, compact and has the tools needed to repair/sew materials. Wish it had a needle threader, which would have completed this kit, imho. I used the punch awl, waxed thread, thimble, finger leathers, scissors and a needle. The awl came apart from the wooden handle, depending on how thick the canvas was I was punching through. Popped it back in, continued my repair. The finger leathers were a bit tight, especially the thumb because my fingers aren't thin, however they did the job and seemed to become more fitted as I worked. Eventually I will wet them and wear them so they will dry to fit my fingers better. The thimble is a design I am not used to, but it did help push the needle when I didn't thoroughly awl punch my hole, wish it were a little bit bigger. Overall, I am pleased with this kit and recommend it for a beginner awl worker. It worked well with the thick, somewhat gluey chair material being repaired. Couldn't figure out how to use the sewing awl, so the needles were a godsend. My husband's camping chair is repaired and both of us are happy and it will hold a 300 pound man! I feel happy and he feels he has saved money by my repairing it and now having the necessary tools to do so if ever needed again.

It is a wonderful kit. It is as advertised with all of the items shown. I just received it a few days ago, so I haven’t had the opportunity to use it yet. I’ll update after that.

Great, all the basics needed

This is awesome for a quick repair kit but that is about it. The compact case is nice to put in a pack if you are going into the back 40. The needles and awl it comes with are sharp and can punch basic repair jobs. It came with a few options for thread that is nice but not really what I was after. Down sides to this pack is that you get what you pay for. The trim on the punch and awl fell off the first use. The tube of needles are very dull but that is to be expected if you know what you are using them for. The overall packaging was subpar. Final thoughts you get more than you pay for. The thread it comes with is decent for a quick repair job. The needles and awl work and didn't break after a few uses. The snips are sharp and cut the thread and a decent patch of thick leather. Do not buy this expecting expert tools this is more for a emergency repair kit or a rainy day let me see if I can stitch leather kinda deal.
