What's the taste difference in the french vanilla shake and the vanilla creme smoothie? don't like the french vanilla at all

I get the horrible aftertaste also. However I can still do the vanilla cream powder & creamy chocolate powder!! I have been using some if the Atkins & Premier Protein ready to drink shakes!! The Slimfast RTD shakes from Amazon in the tetra packaging don't leave that aftertaste but if you notice they only say vanilla, chocolate & strawberry and do not taste like before they changed the formula, they are good but not the same!!
