IT'S NOT USB C!!!! And works fine. Explanation in the review.
Update: Still feel the same way about a micro USB but if you think the thing is broken when you get it (I did) it's because you haven't figure it out. Tap the light (don't push) and it comes on bright. While holding it at that brightness, tap again and It will go to low power. When you have one or the other showing, press firmly and that's the light you will get. I had no clue what I was doing and came within a breath of sending it back. I apologize to the store and the manufacturer for being clueless. Updating to 5 stars. The bright is very bright the low power works well in low light. This day and age, I "Assumed" that it would be the, now, standard USB C. It actually micro usb! Go figure. I am half way tempted to return the thing because of this. I now have to dig into my old junk drawer to find a micro usb. Oh it is one good flash light. Just this old technology, for something this expensive, disappoints. The fact that it states it is a micro usb is besides the point. That info was buried. And I could have asked does it have X-Ray capabilities, but I KNEW IT DIDN'T. This day and age one should be able to just know it is now the current standard. Update: Dropped from 4 to 2 stars. When it started it had a low power and high. Now it only has high and that is sometimes. If the barrel gets turned, it will light at a press but won't stay on. If you turn the barrel, it will now stay on but only high power. The "barrel" I refer to is the "sleeve" that you push up to reveal the micro usb. What that has to do with it, I have no clue. Double press only turns high power on quickly. Certainly not worthy of the EDC tag.

Serious Use, Compact Size
Great light and I can’t believe how Streamlight has progressed. I’ve carried a ProTac 2x 500 lumen for ages. Amazing that this is the same output and similar runtime in a comparatively tiny form factor. It’s quick and easy to use, super bright, and is a perfect balance of design and output for serious use while being small enough to be convenient every day. Rechargeability is also a big plus.

Excellent EDC flashlight
This flashlight was a great buy. It is a very good EDC flashlight. It’s small enough to clip on your pocket and keep it there all day long without it being obtrusive. It’s bright with good battery life. I use it quite a bit and only charge it once a week. I never realized how often a flashlight comes in handy until I started carrying this one every day. It is well worth the price. I like that it has two levels of brightness. For close up work, the high level can be blinding but the lower level is very comfortable when up close.

Battery 🔋 totally DEAD
I SERIOUSLY dislike leaving reviews such as this especially for a product like THIS! I have always sworn by streamlite and will never buy anything else but streamlite but, when my battery dies in such a way that it cannot even recharge itself and it's only ONE MONTH pass the return deadline I'm not happy. Now I've got two choices, buy another, hope it works and send to bogus one back in a dishonest switch-around and take a full on strike against my personal integrity and honesty OR I see how it goes from here by posting my situation as such in order to see what streamlite themselves will do to an ardent customer of their serious quality products and I mean do mean that but just not with this one and I'm certain this situation is to be blamed on streamlite themselves but rather a stocked for too long product and a periodic battery that just wants to not wanna work after hardly 10 hours of use. I love the difference in lumens this light has but it's a little bulky having it hang from my T shirt or wife beater but great to have in my bag and CERTAINLY useful to have when my other two 250 lumen micro steam lights are either on charge or being toyed with by my kids. I doubt this review will remain 1 star for long because streamlite is just that good and I know it so let's see if any of those other negative reviews have any merit to them because, I'm not sure.

Recommend it! But you need to know...
First I have to say I LOVE, LOVE this flashlight... so much so that I've bought an embarrassing 6 in the last 8 years. First the Pros: - It's very strong and solid. The case takes a lot of beating - The one press (painfully bright), 2nd press (moderately bright) feature has been all I need - The clip is actually useful, I carry one in my pocket clipped to the pocket top wherever I go. Now the Cons: - The main reason I've had to replace so many times is the fact it just stops working. When this happens, it flickers heavily. Occasionally taking out the battery and 're-seating' it helps, as does looking for or cleaning off any corrosion on the contacts. At other times it stops completely, possibly the emitter - This morning I felt something odd in my pocket. When I reached and felt the flashlight it was EXTREMELY hot. I've heard about thermal runaway but hadn't experienced it - this was disturbing. I ran it outside and unscrewed the case, taking the battery out; it's since cooled. Can I trust this thing again? The price has come down nicely, I wish I could trust another type/ brand/ manufacturer but I've gone down that road and most are really cheap in materials, construction, etc. So yea, I'd recommend it, but with caveats

Great micro flashlight
I own several flashlights, and this one is close to if not my favorite. I use it for work (septic systems) and it will light up a tank or down a deep cleanout really well! The hat clip is also really useful. The battery life leaves some to be desired, but other than that it is great! It will probably run for 30min+ on high.

The first output level is supposed to be 500 lumens. But this is what happened: 1. First click after leaving off for awhile - low 2. Off 3. Click again - high --> low cycle 4. Off 5. Subsequent clicks - high -> low cycle 6. Off and wait a few minutes 7. Click and starts on low instead of high So after leaving it off for awhile, it starts on low instead of high.

I bought this torch for work and camping, after seeing reviews online. It is undoubtedly expensive, but it is far and away the brightest torch for it's size that I have ever owned. It charges up using a USB cable, which has a handy led indicator to show when it is fully charged. The on/off switch allows for two levels of light, the first press is something like 500 lumens, while the second press gives you 50. If you push the switch and hold it, the light shines until you release it, which is handy. The clip comes with a bit that allows you to place it on the peak of a cap, to act as a head torch, which is surprisingly good. it's compact size means that I can carry it at work without it being cumbersome, in fact, I hardly notice it is there. The build quality is amazing, it is robust, and will probably last for years. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this torch for all sorts of uses.
