It was a book she could read, and it was about penguins, which she loves.

Mr. Bentley has done it again, but this time in the format of an I Can Read book. Little Penguin's New Friend is a fun and humorous story for young and emergent readers. The illustrations are engaging and have some of the same characters as the other Little Penguin Books. A great addition to any library!

I would place this at the bottom of the list to purchase for a "learning to read book" It did not have age appropriate words and very little "holding of a childs interest" even when adult read.

A polar bear is visiting Little Penguin. But he has heard bad things about polar bears. Is the adage "don't believe everything you hear," true? A humorous story about the power of preconceived notions. An early reader book ideal for emergent readers with short sentences, familiar words, and simple concepts.
